If it's an air conditioner it could mean changing or cleaning of your filter screen. On an AC unit you can have one of four typical lights..
1.. No light-no issues because it's off.
2-4 lights depends on if one solid or blinking light (either red or green) or in other senereo two staying on our simultaneously blinking. Can also alternate blinks. These are codes for HVAC technician. Sometimes if there was a surge in power you can trouble shoot only one situation-try unplugging the unit and plugging it in upside down if possible (some models allow for it) if not... Leave it unplugged for a good 5 minutes and replug it in and see if you get the lights. If not it should be good. If you do, it's time to call a technician. Hope your issue gets fixed. Be blessed...

Check the refrigerant charge of your system. If there's no pressure in the lines, the whole A/C system will shut-off. Check for leaks in the tubes, hoses, filter dryer, pressure switches, and compressor fittings. If the system has no charge and there's no visible leak from the items mentioned, the leak could be in the evaporator coil or condensing coil.
