How to replace, (the word how missing ) means many things.
but there NO HDD here, ok? its SSD already but pathetic in size.

but on any computer, old. (generic answer, more later)
1: we buy new SSD , HDD are old and slow, and we bet SSD.
2: then we install it, means remove old and put in new. (screws out then back in , all)
3: then we install the OS from scratch, there is no OS now, so must be installed fresh and new, (no OS stated by you)
Asus, All-in-One (AIO) A10 fake desktop it is.
there are man sub models of this PC.
here is the top of the list of 10 models. IUKH sub.
it's 6 years old.
https://www.asus.com/us/supportonly/ET2221IUKH/HelpDesk_Manual/

this lame AIO came with (2 options)
16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
(drive space) pathetic is the word here , not any good for W10.

this toy grade PC has no service manual not even a full spec.
what it has inside I guess is a early form of M.2 SSD.
it does not have a real spinning (rust) HDD.
not at all. I bet its not bad the SSD, only too full.
16GB is hopeless, sized, windows live updates will kill that space dead.
Some of these PCs have a soldered down FLASH I.C. chip as seen 2009 era (and can not be replaced)
old: 2009? mSata device (mini-sata)
as tech and the lack of ASUS spec. sheets. or service manuals of any kind...
but but… first..... things ,first.....
we see if the 16GB is full. and fix that.(clean it)
if not full and boots ok, with free space (1/2 empty is best practice) do that now.... ask how.

if needing more space, SURE, we then open the AIO up, full only and find this silly 16GB wonder chip, to see if it can be replaced at all.?
if not we just scrap it this PC. (2013 made)
some of these cheap PC can not be upgraded.
but if there is a Msata card or real SATA DRIVE, yes.
1: find the 16GB device, it is NOT any HDD, but early SSD.
2: then try to upgraded it, (look first and tell what is there)

some other submodels (unstated by you )
do have a real HDD dead center, rear (case back off)
just below the fan, metal cover off that and here.

what you have , we will never know until you learn to post full model numbers.

SOURCE: The touch screen on my ASUS ET2221 AB computer has stopped working

Hi Ian!

Has anything changed on the laptop? Any updates? Damage? Or did the screen just stop responding at random? Does restarting it correct the issue?

Hope this helps!

Testimonial: "The desktop touch screen just stopped working today, not sure why hopefully it's just something simple. It is only about 6 weeks old"

Installed new WD HDD (160Gb) into Toshiba Satellite A10-S167. Entered BIOS edit, but can't get laptop to recognize the new HDD (which replaced a smaller, failed HDD)

Shouldn't have any problems on the A10 series working with a 160GB drive, so long as it's an ATA/IDE type with a 44-pin connector. If it's not recognizing the drive, could it be that the pins were not precisely lined-up with the IDE connector? I'd remove the drive, make sure the pins are still all straight, reinsert it into the HDD compartment and see if it makes a difference.

Tecra A10 won't boot up. Laptop was dropped when running and froze. Shut it down to reboot but doesn't work at all. When the power button is pressed, the HDD LED illuminates for just over a second and then...

Hi,

I suggest try going to Local Computer Centers, Have them check what hardware's are having problem, most likely there are problem with LCD, Motherboard, HDD.

How do I remove the hard drive in Toshiba SatellitePro A10 EN? (Removing the plastic cover exposes only the end of the hard drive. I'm reluctant to just start pulling on it!

  • The original Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 HDD is fitted into a Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 Hard Disk Drive cradle - Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 HDD caddy.

      • Gently remove the cradle from the laptop, yes pull on it
      • Unscrew the original Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 Hard Disk Drive & remove it from the cradle.
      • Screw the new Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 Hard Disk Drive into the cradle & refit the cradle into the laptop.
      • Re-install XP or Vista

My brand new ASUS ee PC notebook won't boot up. Any suggestions?

check in the bios settings if the hdd is detected..if detected, you need to re-install the windows..if not detecting, you must replace the hdd...ahh! i think the hdd for this laptop is expensive..coz i know its something special..not same like normal hdd in laptop, like ide or sata..its small hdd inside the board...half size for the 2.5" hdd sata or ide

I need to replace my hard disk notebook with a bigger capacity hdd

Toshiba is rather secretive with their documentation. It is hard to find. Google TOSHIBA SATELLITE A10 SERVICE MANUAL and check the available offerings.

You now have a 5400 RPM, ATA 100 drive. You should not have any drive size restrictions. Shops are advertising many large drives as compatible.

I suggest that you purchase only a 7200 RPM drive. The faster speed will perk your machine right up.

I have not worked on Toshiba machines but suggest you have all restore disks and passwords at hand.
