The person who changed the battery has probably disturbed the hands and disconnected it. Take it back and make them fix it or have it fixed. Same thing happened to my Swiss-made Tissot. Spent $7 to have the battery changed, cost me $1,000 watch. They don't have the parts for my Tissot any more.

SOURCE: my second hand moves out of sync as well

Sometimes ticking like how you described is a sign of low cell, bad circuit board or dirty gears...or any combination of these..also in this style Luminox sometimes the second hand is a bit long and will catch or rub on the traser ring causing it to slow down, stutter or stop all together...you should take it to a reputable jeweler and have them diagnose it...good luck :)

The seconds hand on my nixon watch is not moving

Would it be the battery need replacing?

Only second hand operates. Rest of the watch won't move.

The seconds hand is purely a 60 second timer mate! It's the small crono dial at the top which is actually the real seconds hand! To get it going you need to unscrew your top adjusting wheel and push it once.....and it will start and the watch will hold time fine!
To stop the large seconds timer hand undo the bottom adjusting wheel and push it! Boom job done!
It caught me out aswell until a watch maker told me Rolex works the same and what you think is your seconds hand is just a timer the other hands won't follow hope this helps chaps

It says rom fail on my lodown 2 and i was wondering if anyone knew how to reset the watch?

Here some tips to deal with a Nixon Lodown:
1) Sleeping mood (display is off, all buttons lead to the same reaction: display shows time for some secs and then turns off again. This mode is for battery energy saving, switch it on and off by holding (c.a. 2 secs) the light button.
2) ROM FAIL: it happens that the lodown shows ROM FAIL and constantly restarts. It happened on my watch while I tried to change time zones. Here is what to do about it: Bring it to a professional watch repair store and get the battery replaced. The watch restarts automatically and works perfectly fine again. DON'T send it to Nixon, they will charge you for shipping, battery replacement, the new battery etc. Although it should be covered by the guarantee. Just get a new battery, it cost me 16 USD and the watch is good again, waterproof and works perfectly. Nixon authorized repair centers will charge you extra for pressure testing. I had this on my second Lodown, after I had it two weeks only...
3) Watch freezes: All digits are on at the same time, none of the buttons brings a reaction. I had this problem on my first lodown. Just get a new battery, that solves the problem. But again DON'T use authorized Nixon repair centers, it costed me almost 45 USD, just to get a new battery. Although the watch was only 1 year old and guarantee should have covered this case.
In general the Nixon Lodown is a good watch, looks good, has all features you need, as long as it works. The problem with the watch is, the above problems occur pretty often. I have my second Lodown now and I am very disappointed with the Nixon customer service. Although clearly guarantee cases, they will charge you for every single problem you have with the watch. My advice, bring the watch to a regular watchmaker.
After all, I don't understand why the Nixon Lodown manual does not mention all the above issues. The manual is completely useless, very poor from Nixon. You have to dig online to solve any issues on the watch. In summary: The Nixon Lodown watch is good, Nixon customer service and guarantee is a joke. ROM FAIL and freeze is solved with replacing the battery.

I just bought a new Nixon "The Banks" watch and the dial in the lower right hand corner, I believe it's suppose to be the second hand, won't work.

The Banks has three different batteries in it for each dial. The second hand battery died on it. I had the same problem and just went to a watch store and they replaced the battery for me.

  • Undo & pull the crown all the way out, then
  • undo the adjuster button (the one underneath the crown)
  • push the stop/start adjust button one push at a time and it will move in slight increments, keep going till you get the second hand on the 12 mark
  • then push the top adjuster and it will go back to the 12 mark.
  • Push the crown in and wind your adjusting buttons up and you have finished

With "The Producer" Nixon watch, can you reset the main stopwatch hand to zero? It resets to +4 second position.

Pull out the crown to the first or second set position then press and hold down the start button. The sweep arm should begin to move into the right position. Once it is at 12:00 or 0 release the button and press the crown back in.

Nixon super rover..need to know how to reset the chronograph

Pull the stem all the way out...like your setting the date. Then hit the upper button and that will move the hand 1 second at a time until it gets here you want.
