My new u-control helicopter is experencing spinning

This is a brookstone u-control helicopter that is experencing spinning even after take off. Another problem with the helicopter is the remote. The remote control seems to almost always start blinking. At first I thought it was because if bad batteries but even when I put in brand new ones it still kept blinking. There's also a green light for charging but it never stays lit? My R/C helicopter is an u-control silver bullet helicopter.

I had the same problem, the helicopter would spin out of control and the trim did not help. I took a closer look and noticed that only the top rotor was turning. I took the bottom off of the round gear box to find a tiny white gear had slipped off the second motor. With a pair of needle nose tweezers I was able to reattach the gear and I was flying in no time.

How much is it spinning after and if not to much adjust the st. trim on the controller.

  • Anonymous Mar 05, 2010

ummm I dont know why the controller is Mal-functioning but try adjusting the st. trim under the steering joystick. try that for the spinning.

The silver bullet helicopter does not have a gyroscopic stabilizer in it. That is why it spins. There is no way to fix this, it is just kind of a piece of junk..No offense. If you want one that doesn't bring it back and get a U control Cloud Force model. It has the stabilizer and controls very well. although it is a little more expensive. You can usually spot the ones with stabilizers by looking at the tail rotor. If it spins horizontally rather than vertically, chances are it has the stabilizer. Good luck!

There are two drives in this copter that spin in opposite directions. If you land (crash) upside down you can cause the entire main gear wheels to shift down. This causes one of the drive gears to engage both main gears, so the motors work against each other.
I opened the bottom of the gear box and pushed the entire main gear assembly up and it clicked back into position. At this point the two drive gears only engaged one of the main gears. Put it back together and everything worked great.

My Brookstone Cloud Force Helicopter will not charge. The batteries in remote are good. The green light does not light up.

Question edited to what I think you meant to say :>D

It appears to be a known issue.

https://www.google.com/search?q=brookstone+cloud+force+helicopter+not+charging

But my thought is that being left on the shelf with a flat battery set has ruined the batteries and you need new ones. The manual says it takes 6 x AA rechargeable batteries. It also says the switch must be in the Off position when you charge. Page 6 and 7.

If you are replacing the batteries, buy Sanyo Eneloop, as they are best for power and a quality of build.

Top rotor will not spin

I have the same problem. I have two of these helicopters and just recently brought them out of the closet. On one of them, the bottom rotor spins but the top does not. On the other, it Ian the other way around. It seems like the shaft is not catching the rotors properly, anyone have ideas?

Will not fly lift . Seem to run well but will not lift off the ground

The batteries on the Helicopter need to be fully charged to take off.

And important: to recharge the helicopter fully it needs really good base unit batteries.

I find all this a waste so - I used a wall power supply to supply suitable power to the charging bases of these helicopters give more consistant results than using batteries.. Just make sure you are using a 9V DC wall transformer (6 1.5v batteries = 9v) and that the polarity is correct.
