SOURCE: methods how to do white washing on pine wood?

First use a stain blocking primer such as Killz. If it is an item that is outside use a good exterior paint two coats. Inside items use interior paint two coats. Don't use exterior paint inside cause it can contain pesticides that can cause harm to you. Pine will seep sap for a few years so you may need to repaint sooner than usual.

Is Pestell pine/cedar shavings good for bunnies and guinea pigs ?

Pine shavings can cause cancer and other problems in rabbits. Stay away! The best litter that is safe and odor absorbing is a pellet-type, such as yesterday's news (found in the cat department) or wood pellets (sold in hardware stores or Agway).

What is the most popular type of wood that dog houses are made of?

Wooden dog houses are most likely to be made out of cedar wood. Cedar is very durable and maintenance-free. Compared to other types of wood (like pine), cedar is much more resistance to decay.

You should pick a wood which is moisture tolerant and a one that doesn't require any finish to be durable and effective. Pine, Oak, Mahogany and Western Red Cedar are few examples of adequate wood for wine racks.

Does the wood really matters when it comes to coffee tables?

Hardwoods like oak, walnut, cherry or maple dent less easily than soft woods like pine and cedar. A "solid wood" table means it's made of solid boards. "All wood" tables are produced from engineered plywood or particleboard. I personally prefer the oak tables but it can get a bit pricy so you should take it into consideration.
