as it is a special timber and milled only by a few mills it is possible the bunnings has no contract for that timber

First use a stain blocking primer such as Killz. If it is an item that is outside use a good exterior paint two coats. Inside items use interior paint two coats. Don't use exterior paint inside cause it can contain pesticides that can cause harm to you. Pine will seep sap for a few years so you may need to repaint sooner than usual.
