most of infocus parts are oem and made by a company in taiwan that no longer makes power supplies, and many of the parts have their stock numbers and not neccesarily a common stock. the power supply, however, is in stock at infocus for about $65.

SOURCE: Need info on component 3071 on power supply board - burned up.

Its been a while since i worked on that power board. But I believe you are refering to the orange diode that runs into the single connector for the video board next to the power supply. I replaced mine with a 1n914 diode after replacing the 2200uf lytic cap and the tv fired right up.

SOURCE: Hello!Sony SDM-HS73 power-inverter problem

At this point you may have bad transformers, bad tuning cap, you need to check the frequency of the inverter oscillator to see if both of them are running at the same frequency, the bad one may not be. The Inverter/power supply is not made by SONY, Powernet makes the board. Please see what went wrong with the one I fixed.

One thing to keep in mind, when the board turn into carbon (blacken), it will conduct. The circuits operate at high voltage and high frequency.

I have been trying to turn on my Toshiba 55HT1U television, but it will not come on. I get a little green power light but the screen is still black.

Hello, Thomas!
Looks, like there is an issue with inverter or inverters power supply(24v).
first thing to do: poke your set open, get to inverter make sure it has +24v in a main fuse. If so, in most cases: check fuse for continuity. Must have a multimeter to do that. Some LCD panels have 2 inverters: Master and slave. Known for frequent failure. Easy to determine: usually, on board IC chip bursts on failure. Or, if you really lucky: you may see "bloated" capacitors on those boards, as well on your power supply. I'd start with power supply, then check inverter(s). Good luck!
Thanks,
Alex.

Toshiba Notebook PC's in the A105 series, and A135 series, suffered a lot of issues with asking for a HarDDrive password.

{Chip and Chipset are slang terms for I.C.

A Processor is an I.C.

When you power on your computer the first chipset to receive power is the BIOS chipset.
BIOS looks to see what devices are installed, does a Ram Memory count, turns the Processor on, and hands the computer over to the Operating System.
{Simple explanation}

WinXP, and Win 7 are two examples of an O/S.

BIOS gave the harddrive in your laptop the moniker of HDD1.
If there was another harddrive installed also, it would be HDD2.
(HDD 1, HDD 2 ]

Reloading the O/S may, or May Not stop the request for the HDD1 password.
Most of the time? No.

Removing the CMOS battery (RTC Battery) will Not fix this issue.
{Real Time Clock}

It's a glitch in the BIOS program.

{ NOTE*
When you go to perform a BIOS update, make SURE the power will not go out.
If the power goes out during upgrading, you will wind up with an expensive doorstop, or an ornament for a table.

A battery backup device of some sort is recommended }

No power to box ic is blown in power psu where can i get replacement as the top has come of chip its the ic1 or 4 chip but cant read anything from chip as no top  need to get it repaired

We can probably look up the part numbers, but we'd need the make and model of the unit. Can you please update this with that info? Also, is the IC marked on the board IC1 or IC4? Hopefully you can also indicate which IC is smoked. When we look this up, we will provide other parts that need to be checked. It is unusual for an IC in the power supply to be the only failed part.

Please update this with the above info.

Thanks,
Dan

Chip 48 is fried and i need to replace it preferably with another kind of chip for which i need technical advice on which one to use

The IC which got burnt was for SMPS regulator. And this is necessary for constant DC supply to all components on your other board. So go on the shop and ask for specified regulator IC and also read all datasheets or documentation before replacing it.

Rate this solution if it was helpful to you.

I Need a power suply

These units don't have a separate "power suppy" per se. There is a power transformer and a separate board that contains the standby power supply components. The main power supply components are on the main board.

Rather than looking for a "power supply", what is the problem with the unit? Is there a standby light?

A faint thin, line across my toshiba 32 inch. It was built in 1989, but I don't have idea what model it is. I replaced a few caps around the verticle IC, and the IC itself. I still get the same thing,...

the conversion chip is powered by seperate power from the transfomer + -- volts
here is I believe what your conversion chip # is stk392-110t and here is the NTE specs.
http://www.nteinc.com/specs/7100to7199/pdf/nte7178_81.pdf
you can use the specs. to check voltage pins, ect.. ,if that is the numbers.
to see if the chip is faulty then check resistors, caps , and voltage to the chip , a pr or fuse may have blown for the - and + voltage to the chip. if it is bad it would be wise to replace the vertical deflection chip as well ( hopefully yours is still ok) , because of the vertical control in the conversion chip.
you can also check for the power on the wires from the CRT board that comes from the flyback transformer ( NOT the HIGH VOLTAGE wire ).
also after you have unplugged the tv and dicharged the flyback to the chassi ground you should check the components on the crt ( cathode ray tube ) board for any bad measurements of the components.

The best way to get this to Robotek is to go to the home page and select find experts. Locate his name and use the ASK ME option. I will forward the link for this string to him as well.
