I found a way to get my second hand ‘unstuck’. It would only wiggle when I pressed the button to show the charge. After replacing the capacitor and reassembling very carefully, I pulled out the crown halfway and turned it to advance the date by several days at once. The second hand started moving again right away. It was advancing a second at a time not two, so it had charge. When I checked the amount it showed almost full (new capacitor was already charged).

SOURCE: Seiko Kinetic that doesn't work

This watch does not have a battery, but has a capacitor which is rechargable. It is not taking a charge, and needs to be replaced. You should take it to a store with a watchmaker ON THE PREMISES. Or you could send it to: www.bscwatchrepair.com

Second hand could be stuck against the crystal inside or it is slipping on the shaft. Both of these conditions can be fixed but the case back would have to be removed and the movement removed to fix this problem

You have a bad capacitor. You can either try to repair this yourself with a special upgrade kit for about $20 (and maybe screw it up) or pay an expert who will do it right for $67.

http://www.qualitywatchrepair.com/seiko_kinetic.htm

For an extra $20 he'll do a pressure test on it to be sure it is water-proof but since this is a pro you really don't need to worry about it on a non dive watch.

Two sec jumps is low power in the elec store,,, winds with movement back and forth as your arm would swing. Sometime the day date function is changed by pressing the small button type crown in slightly with your finger nail.it may have on or two detents if so it adjusts both functions. if not the stemcrown needs to be used to set day and button to set date.

My Seiko SNA548 Coutura watch slows down. I replaced the battery and it still slows down especially during cold weather. Could it be the the lubricants in the watch are causing the problem?

isnt that model kinetic? if so, if you arent doing about four minutes of aerobic activity in the course of the day, it will go dead. if for some reason you cant (or dont) get much activity, take the ****** off and shake it for a while

The seconds hands moves every 2 seconds, but still is accurate

Your battery is probably weak. Very common issue when a battery is getting tired! :-) Watches are designed to do that so you know to change the battery! If your watch is a Kinetic or Perpetual Calender then you need to take it to a reputable watch repair shop, I recommend that for a regular battery change as well.

Seconds hand stops moving

1st reason. This means your oscillating weight and paired gears are not generating enough power to charge capacitor, thus not be able to move hand properly. 2nd reason. Capacitor can not recharge itself to full power and needs to be replaced. 3 reason. Seconds or chrono wheel has a mechanical fault developed over the time and needs to be cleaned or replaced. Those are 3 reasons why the seconds hand stops moving in Kinetic watch. Which one is right, you will find out only after visiting watch repair shop, because I can not give correct estimate without seeing the watch myself.
