Can’t get kenwood kac-7251to turn on anymore.

When i bridge the remote wire from power wire on kenwood kac-7251 fan comes on but amp light doesnt until i take wire back off power wire and light goes back off quickly. I am using a brand new scosche loc2sl add-on amp adapter since my friends car is a newer Lincoln ls v8 and the stereo is tied in to the security system. But the amp worked fine until the scosche adapter just stopped working and it was returned for a new one. Even tried a kicker sm1-1500 on it and nothing still. Does anyone have any advice? I’ve never run into this problem before. Thank you.

Is the signal going to the Scosche from the factory HU or a factory amplifier. If from amplifier you will need something like the Audio Control LC-2i that can handle amplified inputs. You may have done damage to the input side of the amp or the LED circuits.

You will probably need to use a Line Output Converter (LOC). They're available at virtually any shop that sells car audio.

Many times, the outputs of the OEM amplifier will have significant DC voltage on them. This could damage the input circuits on the kenwood amplifier.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

My amp blew the 20 amp fuses. Replaced and they blew as soon as the radio kicked in. Took the back off to look for any burnt connections or blown open/expanded capacitors or resistors. It smells like...

Remove all the wires from the amp including the remote turn on wire. Once you do that, after about 30 seconds the amp will reset. Hook the power up first, then the ground then the remote. Turn the unit on and check for power WITHOUT the speakers hooked up. If you get no power by now it's a good chance that the amp is cooked. If you do get power, try hoking up your speakers first on one channel then the other channel and then bridged. If it cuts out or off when you touch the speaker wires to one channel or the other, then that channel is no good. Hope this helps.

I hooked up my kenwood amp and the power lite doesnt come on kac-6104D

That is because it is in protect mode. A lot of times this is because of a bad ground or the battery is not strong enough and you should give it a charge then try it again. But normally it is the ground and make sure the remote wire has a good connection.

My kenwood amp wont turn on all the way i just hooked it up to my truck. the blue lights and the fan come on but the red light wont come on to power my subs

REMOVE THE RCA INPUTS AND DISCONNECT THE SPEAKERS, THEN POWER THE AMPLIFIER UP WITH THIS NO INPUT, NO SPEAKER LOAD CONDITION. IF IT STILL DOES NOT POWER UP, VERIFY THAT THE POSITIVE AND ESPECIALLY THE GROUND CONNECTIONS, ALONG WITH THE REMOTE CONNECTIONS ARE 100%, THEN TRY AGAIN. IF STILL NOT POWERED UP, MEASURE THE REMOTE WIRE VOLTAGE TO INSURE THAT IT IS NOT LOWER THAN 11 VOLTS. IF YOU CANNOT MEASURE IT, THEN DISCONNECT THE REMOTE LEAD FROM THE AMPLIFIER AND TEMPORARILY INSTALL A JUMPER WIRE FROM THE POSITIVE POWER TERMINAL TO THE AMPS REMOTE TERMINAL WHICH WILL FORCE IT TO TURN ON. IF IS STILL DOES NOT POWER UP, THEN IT WILL HAVE TO BE SERVICED. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED FURTHER ASSISTANCE.....V

My kenwood kac-7251 car amp

My first adivse is to check to make sure there are no power to ground shorts or any shorts for that matter. Then, a possibility would be if you have too small of fuses. Make sure you put the correct fuses in in amp according to the manufacturer's specs and the fuse under the hood should be size of your fuses on your amp added up plus a little extra. Meaning if you have 2 25A fuses on your amp then you probably want around a 60A. What ever you do don't put bigger fuses in the amp than the manufacturer specifies or you will cause damage if something gets shorted. Another possibility is that you could have the speaker impedence too low and the amp isn't stable at the impedence you have it at. I hope I could help. Let me know if you need me to specify more. Good luck

Kenwood KAC-7202 wont turn on

I have found the problem to my Kenwood KAC-7202. The amps fan was the only thing that would come on thats it. So I started checkin zener diodes cause all transistors checked out fine. So I remember readinf about a guy that had same problem and took it to a shop and they said it was some diodes. Well, thats what I was thinkin or the transformer. It turned out that 1 zener diode was no good, diode D9 1ss133. I took a zener out of an old vcr I use for parts and put it in and the fan came on as usual then the red light. Then I hooked my mp3 player to the rca input and hooked up some speakers and it works great. Hope this helps you other guys with the same problem. Check your zener diodes with a digital volt meter, if you get any measurement other than the reverse impedance which will read between 600 and 1200 ohms some lower or higher and then reverse the leads on your meter and if you get any reading it's no good and the reading will be 0-50 cause mine read 047 ohms.
