Possible fix is to completely defrost the freezer. Take out all the food and put into coolers or wrap in blankets. Then you can speed up the defrosting by placing pots with boiling water in the freezer and close the doors to let the heat do it's job and rotate more hot water as it cools. This can take several hours to get a total meltdown inside and out. Some freezers have internal drain tubes that freeze up and they can take quite awhile to thaw. You may need some old towels to soak up any overflow on the ground. Once you feel everything is up to room temperature you can wipe down the inside with a mild bleach cloth to kill any old bacteria. Hope it works for you.

SOURCE: FRIGIDAIRE FRS20ZRGD7 (SIDE BY SIDE) WARM FRIDGE/ COLD FREEZER HELP!

look open the freezer door pull the lower kick plate off look for a small little hole there its a mechanical timer model should be close to the wheel in that hole will be a plastic piece open the freezer door you will hear the fan running in the freezer take out the four or five screws on the lower panel where you keep seeing the frost and remove it you will see a silver honeycomb looking piece that's the evaporator on one of the tubes will be clipped a silver dome looking piece with two wires on it that's the defrost thermostat now turn the timer with a screwdriver that's the piece in the little hole slowly to your right till you hear a click and the fan stops in the freezer now as your turning it it will make a ratchet sound you want the click and the fan to stop look at your watch and note the time then wait about 5 minutes and look at the heater to see if its on if its all frosted up the frosted should look all watery if the heater is on then just let it run if not then reach up and turn the freezer control to the off position then un plug the two wires on the defrost thermostat and take the two wires that you unplugged the thermostat from and plug them back together and turn the freezer control back on and wait stay there and watch the heater come on let it defrost the evaporator if the heater comes on when you do that .that means the thermostat is bad if the heater comes on without you having to by pass it that means the timer is bad if you do all that and the heater does not come on then the heater element is bad now its going to get red like an oven and pop and sizzle but don't let it freak you out now if you had to by pass the thermostat and the timer cuts the compressor on before the frost is all clear just turn the timer around again till the fan cuts off and the heater will come back on if you by passed the thermostat then when all the frost is melted then reach up and turn the freezer control back off and reconnect the thermostat. Now after about 30 mins after turning it off the timer should cut back on if its not bad when you change the timer back out the two screws reach under the fridge and turn the timer and its shield till the screws are in the removal position when the timer is loose remove the shield and unplug the timer plug your new one back in then put the shield back on and back where it goes now id recommend changing both the timer and the thermostat as they fail pretty close together the stuff i described above is to make the unit defrost to save your food with out having to use your hair dryer also when all the frost is melted at he bottom of the evaporator on the right hand side is a hole in the cabinet that has to be clear of frost for the fridge to cool properly now any time during this defrost technique if you have a problem turning off the freezer cold control will turn off the defrost system1.gif too if i can be of help or you need to know something just reply to this post

SOURCE: Viking freezer leaking

you have a clogged drain, it is either clogged with ice or some kind of debris, thaw the freezer out and push a length of weed trimmer line down the drain. The drain is accessible by removing the back wall of the inside of the freezer. If there is no clog then the drain may be freezing up, if that is the case, take a piece of 14 gauge romex wire and loop it several times around the heating element at the bottom of the evaporator and push a few inches of it into the drain, this will get hot and transfer heat when it goes into a defrost cycle which is where the water is coming from in the first place

SOURCE: Water collecting and freezing in bottom of freezer

Hi, Remove the rear inside panel of the freezer and locate the drain hole under the evaporator coil. Remove the ice and flush the drain hole with hot water to make sure it is free. You can try running a soft wire through the drain also.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

SOURCE: Freezer forming Ice on the bottom not draining water

pour some hot water in the drain if this does not work use compressed air

Testimonial: "So far that worked great, we will see if it continues to drain when the freezer is back on and does it defrost cycle."

Sounds like the defrost drain at the bottom of the freezer section is frozen over and clogged.
shut the refrigerator off, remove the food in the freezer
remove the shelves
remove the lower panel on the rear wall
at the bottom is the drain pan with a hole
my guess that it is full of ice?
use hot sink water and remove the ice
then use a turkey baster to clear the hole and the hose.
If the water still won't drain your going to have to manually clean the hose.

What could be causing my 7 year old upright Frigidaire Model FFU21K2CW0 Freezer to NOT freeze? The inside (of the compartment) coils feel cold, the seal is good, but the ice cream is VERY soft. The...

Your freezer is probably running constantly as well. Lift the bottom vent panel (the one with all the holes in it) and look at the bottom of the back panel. There should be a half inch gap for the cold air return. If you see a solid wall of ice in that gap your coils have frozen over. You need to clean out the freezer and defrost it. Look in the back near the compressor. If your model does not have a drain plug in the bottom then you need to leave the door open and mop up the water as it melts off the coils from the inside. If you can, wheel it outside on a dolly and let it defrost where it can drain on its own. After you are sure it is totally defrosted, plug it back in at a control setting of 5 for at least 4 hours, preferrably overnight, and check the temp. Setting the freezer at 7 will encourage ice buildup. Your problem may be a bad defrost timer, which your local appliance parts store may have.

Water leaking from under the freezer

Until defrosting the block of ice you canot see if is a hole or crack in the bottom. But I suppose is leaking from the door gasket under the pressure of the ice inside. Anyway, if you want to keep alife your refrigerator, better unplug it, defrosting and clean it before complete annihilation.
