Usually when this happens, the TV is in Protection Mode. When the TV detects something has gone wrong inside, the TV will prevent itself from turning ON.
Try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 -45 minutes so the TV can discharge and reset itself. If this doesn't fix the problem, most likely it's a power supply board related issue. At that point, you may want to get a price quote from a local TV repair shop. The cost of fixing the TV may exceed the price of a brand new TV.

The main board will need replacement. Its very common issue where the set will freeze at the vizio kogo then eventually it wont turn the logo from orange to white so it can power up. Replacing the main board should solve the issue. You can get the replacement main board from www.tvcircuitboards.com

My Dynex TV wont turn on but it has a flashing red light in the front of the TV. It is the power light that is flashing on and off repeatly.

Same thing happens toe after a thunder storm and the tv won't turn on. Do anyone know what this means?

My companys dynex dx-l42-10a 42 in tv was working nxt thing i know it wont turn on. i noticed the green light is'nt on even though its pluged in, and there is no users manual

If the front LED is not on, it means the 5vdc standby power is not working. Check the power supply caps and fuse first.

Vizio TV wont turn on after three weeks no use

My vizio recently did the same exact thing. Vizio sent an HDTV tech out to fix it and it was the power board. He put a new board in (took 15 min) and the tv works like new.

Vizio L42 - sound set to 0 and still loud distorted sound

I unplugged the TV and let it sit for about an hour and now appears to be working as before. Still strange, have never experience this before. I could understand no volume.

For the 42" plasma, you need to change your sustainer boards or your main board to fix the problem. If your TV is still under warranty, call 877-MY-VIZIO and they will have a technician go to your home and fix the problem for free.
