Canon will not fix it unless still under warranty. Unfortunately, not worth paying to have it cleaned professionally because most techs including Canon charge a minimum of $75. That’s more than the camera is worth. If you are ambitious and want to disassemble the lens yourself, fungus can be cleaned with a weak vinegar-water solution. However, if the fungus is old it has already damaged the lens coating. If it is just a tiny speck, better to expose it to direct sunlight that will kill the mold. The speck will remain but not grow.

I have a Canon A460 that does this every now and then. Usually if I removed the batteries and put them back in, it does the trick. If that doesn't work, and the camera will stay on, try resetting it. Click Menu> Tools and then scroll all the way to the last option Reset All. Good luck!

Oh This Could be a problem. But try just wiping it with a lens cleaning kit. If that dosnt work take it to a camera shop and let them work on it.
SOURCE: I purchased a televue ranger at an estate sale,
I would contact Televue and see if they can clean the scope. I would NOT disassemble the lens cell, there are two or three lenses on that scope that must be centered and adjusted using an optical bench. DO NOT take them apart unless you know how to collimate the optics.

It is very easy to fix it.
For this, your camera has to be disassembled and collected together again by an authorised repairer.
Its prize changes from one Service Center to another.
Please ask if they can give you an acceptable prize.
Regards.
SOURCE: lens error, restart camera canon powershot
The best thing to do is to first try restarting the camera. Do not push or pull on the lens as this will often cause other issues. Do not blow air in the lens as this generally moves any dirt or dust to the back and it sits on your imaging sensor, you'll end up with poor photos after that. The best thing to do is to have it serviced so it is fixed correctly and working the way it should be. The site that is great for the Powershot Models is: www.CamerasAndParts.com They only specialize in these Powershots and they have your exact lens error problem right on the site. Try them for help. They tend to be the best deal plus they're service is wonderful. You'll pay $89 for the repair, all of the service for that model and the return shipping back to you included with them. They'd be the place for help with this one, best of luck.
