Have you checked the flame sensor? There is a safety flame sensor monitoring that there the unit is keeping a burning flame or the gas valve shuts off. Most lack of heat in dryers is caused by a bad igniter coil or a bad flame sensor. Check both. Igniter coil can be checked with a meter or carefully powered momentarily on a workbench. Fire hazard - don’t leave it turned on.

Have you checked the relay for the igniter and confirmed there is power to the igniter?

SOURCE: maytag gas dryer not heating

You may want to disconnect the vent from the back of the dryer and try it. Flame rollback will cycle the burner off by the high limit.

Considering what you have already done to it, if the problem still exists you probably have bad coils on the gas valve. make sure you replace them as a set.

The thermal fuse is a one time device. If it opens, the burner will not come on at all.

SOURCE: I have a Maytag Atlantis gas dryer, model

Hello,
The problem is going to be that coils on the gas valve. It is pretty common for the coils to open gas valve when cool but once dryes runs and the coils heat up they will not open gas valve. the coils are the black plastic parts on the gas valve held down by a bracket, one has 2 wires the other has 3 wires in the plug on them. To replace them remove bracket over top of them(dont worry the bracket that says dont grip is for when dryer is plugged in you will be potentially shocked if gripping when plugged in but to repair when unplugged no danger)pull off of the plug and install the new ones, the bracket has a notch and the coils have a corosponding tab they interlock to positon coils correctly.
The part # for the kit that contains both coils is 279834 and sold for under $20.00 from your local appliance parts store on online at;

apdepot.com

I hope this will help you to repair your dryer,
Gene

Gas dryer checked ignitor, thermal fuse and flame all had continuity still ignitor will not glow or heat

Will try to help you checked the igniter you say good if good does it glow if so clamp on one wire and take an amp draw while heating I like to see a minimum of 3 amps if glowing and 3 and above change the coils on the gas valve very cheap, now if not glowing and good ignitor the fun begins power comes out of the heat relay on the control board passes thru the thermal fuse then thermal cut off then hi limit then the flame sensor while also feeding the gas coils the neutral is supplied thru the centrifugal switch on the tumbler motor if the dryer stays running the centrifugal switch is good and you have a neutral bad flame sensor very rare since I am not there check the thermal cut off once blown it does not reset has to be replaced if all the fused I mentioned check good then check the heat relay on the board black and red wire stick meter ends in both off should read 120 volt when machine turned on should hear it click and meter should read 0 volts the boards seldom go bad but I have replaced a few in 5 years I am leaning more towards an open thermal cutoff

Maytag mlg2000aww ignitor flame doesnt go on when started

This dryer uses a hot surface ignitor to light the burner. test for 110 volts at the ignitor plug after you disconnect it and start the dryer, if voltage is present, replace the ignitor, part# 33002789, if no 110 volts, than you will need to check the thermal fuse located on the blower housing, if hte dryer heats a few times then fails to light after it has warmed up, you will most likely need the coil kit on the gas valve replaced. My dryer is not working its just blows cold air only no flame what can i do to fix it?

If the ignitor is glowing but no flame check the coils, flame sensor for continuity, and make sure gas is on. If the ignitor is not glowing check the thermal fuse for continuity and check to make sure the ignitor is not bad by making sure that it has 120 volts when dryer is running

Mdg 4000aww turns on and heats when started. runs for 5 five minutes then flame goes out. ignitor glows but no flame. one minute later dryer still running ignitor glows, no flame. this repaets until turned...

Either the venting needs cleaned or the coils on the gas valve are bad. Unhook the venting from the back of the unit and run. If works ok then clean venting. If you still have the problem, replace the two coils on top of the gas valve.

No heat

Is the ignitor glowing? There is a flame sesor on the burner assembly if it is open you will not get any power to the ignitor to lite the gas.
