Info on doing a hard reset on my panasonix sz8 camera

Up to a week ago the camera was working fine, but upon trying to upload pictures to google pgotos the camera wasn't recognised even after going into settings and trying to find a new device. Since then, upon switcjing the camera on I'm getting a USB screen that asks me to either use PICT BRIDGE or PC using the usb lead. I can't get past this page to use the camera. I have managed to get to the 'spanner' symbol to reset the camera but have had no success. I've been told I may have to do a ;hard reset', but would like to know if it's something I can do myself.

Use a card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

My aperture or lens isn't opening - can't take a picture. It worked fine a couple of weeks ago and when I tried to use it this week it was a no go.

Aperture and lens are two different things. If you mean the camera is taking black pictures (something common for the S5), then see this link.

But if you mean that the lens isn't extending properly, then see this video:

How do I upload videos from my powerShot A2200 using the memory card?

The videos should upload just as well as photos using a card reader. Just make sure that whatever program you're using knows about videos.

If all else fails, simply open up your operating system's explorer window and drag-n-drop the videos from your card to your hard drive.

I was using my olympus XD picture card about 2 weeks ago in my camera to take photos of a birthday party. There is ALOT of precious photos on the card. I left the card for awhile without uploading the...

If you do not own a media card reader for your PC go and buy one so that you can plug your XD card directly into your computer. Then download this software.

You will then have an idea if you will be able to recover the pictures from your card. Your other option is to pay a data recovery company which could run you hundreds of dollars.

Nikon coolpix camera has lines

Hi,

You no need to fix this problem. This is a CCD failure and in some cases had been subject to a recall. Contact Nikon support-this may be one of the recalls and replacement camera could be on its way. They will do it for free of cost.

Thank you !!

Where do i get the software online to get my pictures uploaded

Get your pictures off your camera to a website, or your hard drive?

I will assume your hard drive, so first make sure you install your camera drivers so computer recognizes your camera when you plug it in.

Download picasa software from google, It is free, and that will import your pictures from your camera to your hard drive, and also let you upload your pictures to the web right from within picasa program.
