SOURCE: Electrolux FGX831FS1 dryer drum, only spins one way manually

Check inside the drum to make sure the three screws in a triangle in the rear center are all there, if they fall out the drum goes off center and the motor can no longer drive it.
This model has no rollers, the front of the drum has plastic glides mounted on the front of the drum that ride on teflon impregnated pads that are glued around the door.
The rear is supported by a steel ball screwed to the rear of the drum (the 3 screws that I think are causing your troubles) that rides in a plastic saddle screwed to the rear of the machine.
If the excess drum movement is only up and down you should replace the front glide system.

My new Whirlpool 3 prong dryer spins counter clockwise. Why not clockwise?

Is the air blowing from the exhaust in the back of the dryer and are clothes drying?
if the motor turned the other way, you would have no air flow. The dryer is working as designed. Also, if the drum turned clockwise, the idler pulley would not keep the belt tight. Some dryers turn clockwise, some counterclockwise.

Whirlpool dryer awz 121 only tumbles counter clockwise. This is a dryer that briefly reverses direction, so the only tumbling is when it reverses. The rest of the time, the dryer makes a noise but d

You may want to contact a professional that will have the diagrams for your machine online. there are some here or you can go to another site. like (Just answer.) Be more specific about your problem. It can be fixed . There's no worries.

Are you saying that it does not heat up either ?In addition with not tumbling clockwise ?

Disconnect the dryer first. You can remove the top and front of the dryer to check to see what is happening. If it does not heat . You may need to replace the temperature control relay. If that does not work , the heating elements themselves may need to be replaced.

For the tumbling problem, they also have relay switches that go out.
BUT, if it is tumbling to one side and keeps tumbling then that will probably be enough to dry your clothes. As long as it is not too heavily loaded.

Whirlpool dryer not exhausting air, and the drum is spinning counter-clock wise

Hi,

The first and most important thing you need to do, is to disconnect the dryer from the wall outlet before doing any kind of work on it. Most parts will need to be checked for continuity and the dryer must be disconnected from the wall outlet.
Most of the times the part causing the problem is behind the dryer and you can gain access by removing the back panel.
