Konica printer indicates "initializing total ram 1024mb"

Use front panel controls to list all print/fax/copy jobs and delete them one by one.

The problem can be may this however hard resetting it can fix the issue

1. Turn machine on while pushing and holding the TWO up/down menu buttons at same time.
2. Menu window will show "OKI USER"
3. Scroll to " Engine Dialog Mode" is indicated. Push Enter button.
4. "Diagnostic Mode xx.xx.xx S-Mode is indicated.
5. Scroll to "NV-Ram initial" is indicated. Push ENTER.
6. Window shows "NV-Ram- Initial Table 1".
7. Push ONLINE and ENTER Buttons simultaneously and HOLD for 10 seconds after you see "Executing Reset" appear in menu window.
8. Restart printer.

What os are your using? XP, Vista, Win 7?) Also, was this a new motherboard and what type of case are you using? Lastly, I would recommend you checking your BIOS and make sure there are no limits set on the memory cap. (Usually found in older system but check anyway.)

You can calculate it yourself.
a = the number of simm slots
b= the maxium value of ram chip the moher board allows


there for the total is a * b ram memory
eg 2 slots , 512mb max memory chip size = 1024mb memory max

The following manual was read by me. The Troubleshooting section and error message section didn't mention the 256 MB memory ram error.

However, there is supposed to be an 'initalizing' message if the printer is initializing.

Also, there is a 'memory full' error when there are too many fonts on the memory card, but this is not something you mentioned.

If you can't solve the problem with the above, I would consider having the unit serviced by Konica Minolta.

512MB + 512MB = 1024MB, or also stated as 1GB
1024MB = 1GB

1024mb Total 512 per slot

Ram should always be paired. Same type, speed and size in each slot. You may have 1 SIMM/DIMM/DDR that has 2 sides of chips and the other with 1 which will do exactly what you state. RAM reads across the chips simultaneously. So if you have a different one in each slot it can go bonkers and do goofy stuff on you.
