Check inside the green guide (sensor) for pieces of label. That will block the sensor. If the sensor is reporting a thickness which is double (250) what you expect, then that is definitely the issue.

If you open the case there is a sensor that detects whether the head is opened or not that is connected to the open and close lever. Sometimes the tab that blocks the sensor when it is closed get out of alignment or comes loose or the sensor is jarred loose. Make sure the tab breaks the beam.

Re-calibrate the printer. If still not working, take out the ribbon assembly by removing 3 screws and check the sensor ( "L" shaped plastic glass). If still not working, buy a new ribbon assembly.

Position fault or Out of stock when the printer is loaded with paper stock can usually be solved by calibrating the printer.

Press & hold the FEED button. Let the printer cycle 8-10 times. Should feed to the right position and say Calibration Complete in the window.

Hope this solves your problem.

The error is indicating that it cannot calibrate the media. Try holding in the feed key for approx 10 seconds and see if it will calibrate. Experiment with the position of the media sensor. It will slide horizontally.

I HAV A DATAMAX I-CLASS PRINTER IT IS SAYING THAT I HAVE A RIBBON FAULT AND THE PRINTER IS THERMAL

Thermal can mean "Direct Thermal" (no ribbon) or "Thermal Transfer" (with ribbon). If you want to print using Direct Thermal labels you need to select Direct Thermal from Media Settings in the Menu accessed from the Control Panel on the front of the printer. Otherwise, the printer sensors will look for a ribbon that is not there, and you will see an error message.

Datamax o'neil E Class Mark III prints labels but the font is half cut off (and off centered) and cut off at the top

You will have to go to settings and alignment option. You may also have to pick out a different paper size option.

WE HAVE A DATAMAX CLASS PRINTER AND IT'S GIVING ME AN ERROR " TOP F FORM FAULT" WE DO NOT HAVE THE MANUAL. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP? THANK YOU

Most likely problems:
Wrong sensor set in the media type area. Gap, Reflective.
If the incorrect meday sensor is set, the unit will give a TOF error.
If you hae pressed the feed button and kept pressed for at least 4 labels, and it does not automatically calibrate, check the type of sensor.
If you still get error, and the correct sensor is set, do a complete calibration.

You can downlad the user manual at Datamax-ONeil Web site.

Hi! I have a problem with my office Datamax E class printer. When i change tickets in the printer it doesn't print them the right size - normally they are too short. Do you have any idea how to solve...

If you are changing length(feed length) you may have to recalibrate the printer . Also ensure that your print format is the correct length for the stock.
You can look at the setup of the printer using the datamax-oneil printer configutation program, or if it is using IP connection, you can go directly to the internal web page for set up. make the cal length 3 times the label length, or leave at the default value.
