Login, go to settings. Choose "delete account". You'll be logged out and that's it.
You could try to contact the customer service or support department of the email provider. Or, simply stop accessing the old address. After 90 days or so with no logins, many email providers will suspend the account.

If you wanted to create another facebook account using a different email address that is fine.
You just need to remove other email addresses associated with your profile.
To delete yahoo account:
1. Sign-in first
2. Click this link
https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user
3. Type your password in the box
4. Enter verification code from the image to the box
5. Click Terminate this account.
To delete G-mail account:
1. Sign- in first
2. Click this link and follow instruction
