Check input or source if ok try cable and channel search and use 3 or 4
SOURCE: Quasar VV-2001 TV/VCR combo - msg: Check Antenna Cable Connection
Check first the antenna using another TV. If there is no other TV available, check using an ohmeter. If you are 100% sure tha the antenna is ok then the antenna connector on your Tv is not making a good connection to the antenna plug.
SOURCE: tv not working
Can you confirm that you didn't have any input signal? My wife once accidentally pressed the reset button on the remote and the TV was stuck in this state. I tried to hook up an antenna to the digital antenna input and let the TV search for a channel. It did find a station and got out of the channel search mode, which was all I needed. Then, I unhook the antenna and continued to enjoy my DVD movie. I didn't check the manual. So, it's possible that there is a better solution. My TV was working fine and I think it just has a terrible user interface. I'm not sure about your TV's condition, though.
Check if the remote is in TV position, that is, because most of the remote controllers have the feature that you can program them for use with another devices. Make shure that one button that says "TV" in pressed and released once before you try to change any function on the TV.

I have exactly the same problem with the very same equipment but I may have found a solution. Try scanning for DVB-T channels and you may find some success. I also recommend printing up the WinTV user manual and reading it. I'm not big on reading manuals but this one actually has a lot of useful info. I will try to fix my setup and let you know if it works. Today it is recording all 6 Star War episodes till 2 am plugged in through the set top box (can't interupt)
SOURCE: Problem with my new purchased LED 8 series Samsung
I would take it back and get another one. If you can try and keep the little fly lead you get with it for the scart.
If you havent noticed but the samsung series 8 LED does not have standard scart ports on the tv at all. there little fly leads that plug into it and have a female type scart adaptor on it.
another good tip for you... Samsung have something called wise link pro there on the newer tv's like yourself. This is a little USB on the television that allows you to plug a Usb stick into it and play MP3 (music), Photo's and allows you to watch VOB, DIVX etc (downloaded films)
save a lot of time transferring these into dvd format etc. Just plug and play.
Note older Samsung has wiselink but not the PRO.... pro allows you to watch films if its not Pro your stuck with mp3, and photo's sorry!!!
hope this helps
