I have the opposite of a convergence problem. green pincushion cannot adjust so green is higher on left and right than center (bow tie). BUT red & blue will adjust and proprerly converge over the...

makenamicro, there is still a convergence yoke the green crt which means there is still a drive control circuit that controls your dynamic and static convergence. If you are working with out a service manual it is still possible that one of the convergence power amps is out, since you mentioned that you can adjust the red and blue to conform to the green pattern then try to adjust the green with out the R/B present if you ca not still adjust you green pincushion problem then suspect one of the power conv amps or a defective green conv yoke.(don't forget to check the small value resistors usually around 2 ohm and the pico fuses if the tv uses them. good luck and i hope i answered your questions, please let this web site know if yes by leaving some pos feedback. thanks!

VERTICAL POSITION BLUE

You have 1 of the resistors open or burned in the Blue circuit. Replace it before it damages the new IC's.

Toshiba 65hdx82 convergence problem, pincushion

Your TV most likely a failure in the convergence circuits. ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

0667c5f.pngSOLUTION

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses. Its a fairly easy DIY job or you can call in a pro. If you want to do the repair yourself check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, email/phone support, etc.

Replaced both STK392-120 still Blue Convergence problem

Hi, first. thing to do is go into "menu" and keep scrolling down until you get to convergence adjustments see if red & blue move up/down and also left/right, IF they dont you have a bad resistor(s) or open chemical fuse(s), if both colors move, scroll to "factory reset" and try re-setting, let me know the results, hopefully you did NOT.. use generic 120`s, video-tek

Samsung HCL5515WX/XAA convergence Issue

I would replace both of the STK392-040, and check the resistors with one side out of circuit. The variable resistors are melted at the factory after the resistance is dialed in. I would check the resistance on it before replacing it. You can get replacement ICs and resistors at the following link and they provide free instalation instructions.

Jvc av48wp74 horizontal convergence unadjustable after after repair

you have to lift one side of the resistor from circuit in order to measure resistance otherwise a open resistor will not read open as you will be reading the resistance from the surrounding circuit. Always lift one side of a resistor out of circuit when testing with a ohms meter.

Ok, so I Replaced stk-392-110 (2) and......

Check the resistors in the red convergence circuit right next to the Ics you will need to lift one side of the resistor out of circuit to acurately check them but usually one or two resistors will be opened when the ICs go out

Convergence

Did you remove 1 leg of each resistor out of circuit when you checked the resistors? sounds like thier is still one resistor open or maybe one of the new IC pins need abit more solder.

Blue and Red convergence totally out

You could or most likly have other componets on the convergence board that are defective. I have found capacitors as well as resistors that have changed value and caused the IC to overheat. It is a possibility also that the board has damage on it due to a leaky tube, as this is not the first time I have heard of this problem. You must inspect the board very carefully and make sure ther are no stains around any componets and if there is clean off the board with a non lub type degreaser made for electronic or electrical boards. Also check the parts around the stains for proper values and tolerances.
