Question about Maytag Dryers
Have you checked the flame sensor? There is a safety flame sensor monitoring that there the unit is keeping a burning flame or the gas valve shuts off. Most lack of heat in dryers is caused by a bad igniter coil or a bad flame sensor. And the last answer. Check both. Igniter coil can be checked with a meter or carefully powered momentarily on a workbench. Fire hazard - don’t leave it turned on.

Check you flame. If the flame is very short (less than half way down the burner tube, it can be a gas pressure regulator failure. They are adjustable but that usually indicated it is about to fail. Make sure the flame ignites every time you hear the relay and solenoid valve click. The is a small panel on the front that can be removed to see the burner and the pressure regulator. The is a glow igniter that comes on several seconds before the gas is admitted. Confirm that works. Check at the dryer vent whether you smell gas once and a while which would be an indication of a failure to ignite.

The instructions above are perfect for most Maytag Dryers, but the Neptune MDE4000AYW is built differently from most. To open it, undo the two screws that run through the door hinges, and remove the door, then undo the two other screws that are on the opposite side of the doorway. With these four screws out, you can lift the front panel UP and out. Make sure you unplug the dryer first :-)

SOURCE: dryer does not release any heat
Is yours the gas model? If so I need you to look for some things. Open back door panel and see if while trying to light the igniter is glowing orange. Sea Breeze

SOURCE: dryer does not heat up.
normally on these units if the dryer was working ok and then suyddenly stopped heating your heating element or the ignitor (excitor ) has failed and is need of replacement
so i would start by having these things checked first by contacting a local repair man to do a evaluation on the unit and if kyou still have a valid warranty i would use it ok
I hope that this is very helpful for you
Best regards Richard
