SOURCE: Cannot get email
This is a very common problem. Upgrading you iphone firmware if it's not current may solve this problem. Or try changing your address for the account from [email protected]" to your yahoo id without the "@yahoo.com"
Otherwise the built-in yahoo option for iphone can be buggy:
If you have a very large yahoo inbox, you may have to do the following:
1. Go to your yahoo account in a regular browser on your computer. Makesure you're using the new version of Yahoo mail (the one that looks andfeels like outlook).
2. Create a new folder. I called mine "archive - inbox".
3. Select ALL emails in your inbox so that your inbox folder will becompletely empty once you move them (there's a box you can check whichwill select everything). I had over 5,000 emails in my inbox, so thiswould have taken ages using the Classic version of Yahoo mail.
4. Move all emails to your newly created archive folder. Go back intothe archive folder and select any unread/new emails and move them backto your inbox.
5. Go into Yahoo on your iphone and refresh the mail. This will clearout the old emails and download the most recent emails from your inbox.

Anway i'm just a kid but hope it helped you people!

Technically, you're on the money with switching the phone's email client to POP3 and never delete from server. All of that can be done through the mail setup app on the phone.
If you want to get creative, create a new gmail account for the client, set the reply address on the new account to the original email account, and forward a copy of all incoming mail to the new gmail account. That way everything comes to the iPhone but now you are protecting the user from him/herself -- s/he can delete away on the iPhone but can't access the original email account unless connected through Outlook.
SOURCE: cannot get or send email on iphone. I get error
If the Apple email server was having a problem for a short period of time, this could have been the result, an error message about failing to be able to log you in. In which case waiting a short while and trying again, or trying from a different device (like a computer) to check would have been a good course of action ...
Usually if you have an email "address," meaning a username with an email provider, and you delete the entire account, they will not allow you to choose the same username again, it's gone forever.
If your email account is permanently deleted, can you set up a new one with a different, unique username?
Good luck!
