Transferring software and files from PowerPC G3 to PowerMac G4

I would like to transfer the 4 accounts (family of 4 each with our own accounts established 9 years ago and updated periodically) with programs and files from a iMac model PowerMac 2.1 with CPU PowerPC 750 400 mHz Power PC G3 using OSX10.4.11 to a newly acquired used PowerPC G4 PowerMac G4 2.1 Dual 867 mHz using OX 10.2.  The google search told me the steps of connecting the system via Ethernet, turn on file sharing on the iMac, mount the iMac's file system on the Power mac. Copy your files.
I connected the two system together using an ethernet cable. Then I when to the imac system preference, sharing , internet tab and checked on Built-in Ethernet.  I did the same for the powermac.  I was lost at the step of ''mount the iMac's file system on the powermac.''  I do not know where to look or saw the word ''mount'' anywhere.

Google' Chrome browser is not supported on the PowerPC (G3 and G4) systems. You can however still find an optimized and up to date version of Firefox http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/

Hi i would like to find out what is the latest software for an apple G4 Emac computer.

Well you will have to look for software made for the PowerPC architecture and not for x86 systems. Look for universal binary in the software as this shows that it will work on PowerPC architecture. As for the operating system OS 10.5 Leopard was the final version for PowerPC based systems.
    Good luck

It is possible you have a power supply failure. My MDD was doing the same thing unless I reset the PMU. There is a tutorial here on checking the PS - D275729F-09DA-4FBB-96B3-BEEEB2C04619.html It for a MDD, but I would think it would be useful for your situation.
Do you have an Intuos tablet connected? The drivers for that might be causing the problem and should be updated to the newest driver available

''imac g4 does not see dvd drive after Xferring files and setting

when booting in os x after the first boot chime immediately hold down keys <apple, option,o,f> all at the same time and allow computer to boot to open firmware once there type "reset-nvram" exactly like that but without quotation marks and press enter once it returns to command prompt type "reset-all"and press enter (you must have the "-" in between the commands) the computer should restart if not when the command prompt returns type "reboot" and hit enter ..... also you can check the drive status by going to "system profiler" in apple drop down menu--->about this mac-->more info or applications folder-->utilities folder--->system profiler then selct disk burning under hardware in the list on the left
