Need to get back my puk

To set how your phone uses the access codes and security settings, select Menu >Settings > Security.

The security code helps to protect your phone against unauthorized use. The preset code is 12345. You can change the code, and set the phone to request the code.

The PIN (UPIN) code, supplied with the SIM (USIM) card, helps to protect the card against unauthorized use.

The PIN2 (UPIN2) code, supplied with some SIM (USIM) cards, is required to access certain services.

PUK (UPUK) and PUK2 (UPUK2) codes may be supplied with the SIM (USIM) card. If you enter the PIN code incorrectly three times in succession, you are asked for the PUK code. If the codes are not supplied, contact your service provider.

The barring password is required when using the Call barring service to restrict incoming calls to and outgoing calls from your phone (network service).

To view or change the security module settings, select Menu > Settings >
Security > Security module setting

Hi, this is a common problem, the PUK code is the security code for the sim card and not the phone so you have a few options open to you,.
1. if you still have the pack the sim card came with then this will have the PUK code written on it
2. if you no longer have this pack then you can get your PUK code for free over the fone from your service provider, so say your sim card is with vodafone then all you need to do is giv them a call and they will give you the PUK code over the fone for free,
3. if you have a shop by you that is the same provider as your sim card like say orange or vodafone then take your fone into them and they can give you the PUK code over the counter for free.
4, if you no longer need to use that sim card then you can go out and buy a new sim and this will come wiv its own PUK code.

NEVER TRY GUESSING THE CODE AS ITS BETWEEN 10 AND 12 NUMBERS LONG AND IS TOTALLY RANDOM AND EACH PUK CODE IS UNIQUE TO THE SIM THATS ASKING FOR THE CODE,
NEVER PAY ANYONE TO GET YOU OR GIVE YOU THE PUK CODE AS ITS FREE TO GET AND THE PUK CODE BELONGS TO YOU SO ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS CONTACT THE SERVICE PROVIDER THE SIM CARD IS WITH AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE CODE FOR FREE OVER THE PHONE.

If you have any problems give me a shout back and let me know what network the sim is with and ill ill advise you on the best way of getting the code, sum service providers have an option on their website where you enter your details and phone number and it lets you get the PUK code that way,

Hi the PUK code is the security code for the sim card and not any code to do with the phone, all you need to do to get the PUK code is call your service provider.
your service provider wont charge for giving you the code as the code belongs to you, all you need to tell them is your phone number or if you dont know that then the number printed on the sim card, they will then provide you with the 10digit PUK code for free over the phone.
this will then allow you to access the sim card.

The only place you can get the PUK code from is your service provider as their is no where else that keeps these codes, if you still have the card the sim card was attatched to then it will be written on their but if you no longer have this then the only way your going to get the code is by calling your service provider, they wont charge you for this as the code belongs to you,

you do have another option open to you though, if you dont need that sim card then you can go out and get another sim card and when you get given a new sim card you will get given the unique PUK code it will be written on the card the sim card is attatched to.

For you to get your puk code, check the back of your starter pack.{the starter pack is the pack which contain your sim card when you bought it.

Or you mtn customer care on 180 with an mtn number and they will provide the puk code for you.

PUK code cannot be given by any manual or person . Its specific for each and every mobile number. Only the service provider can provide you with that PUK code.
So please contact your service provider(MTN) customer care. He will ask your details give him that for security check and you are all set to go he will provide you with PUK code .

You need to call MTN Nigeria to unlock the PUK, or simply use a different sim card.

UK means "personal unlocking key" .

The PUK code is asked if you enter a wrong pin 3 times.

You need to call the phone company that released the SIM card, they can retrieve the PUK code from a database for free.

In your case you need to contact your SIM card provider technical support to unlock the SIM.


The PIN and PUK are related to the SIM card, not to the phone.

If you replace the SIM card with a different one, then the phone will not ask for the PUK anymore.

just go straight 2 your sim card provider, ok? then if u are using an iphone, you can go to the net and visit thier website, there they will give u a solution.

you have entered the pin code wrong 3 times now you are required to enter a puk code to reset the pin code. 

The puk code is sim card spesific it comes with the sim card when you get it or you can get it by calling your phone service provider of the sim card to get the puk code. 


if you have entered the puk code wrong too many times you will make the sim card useless and you will have to contact your phone service provider for a new sim card, it will probably cost.
