When I press the button to close my garage door it will almost close but then it will open right back up. I have to sit there and let it open and wait for the light to stop flashing and try it again. It takes several times to get the door to close.

have to hold button down to get door to close else it will stop part way down and go back up and click and the lights will flash. i adjusted the sensitivity and greased the tracks and it helped for a while but is doing it again. the belt looks like it isn't loose. not sure what is causing it.

When i push the button to close the garage door it goes down alittle bit then stops and goes back up. I just went out and pushed the button and held it in and the door closed then try to close it the normal way then the door did the same thing it has been doing.

I have a Chamberlain PD212C-1/2HP door opener it is 7 yrs old. This spring it started acting up.I adjusted the travel limits and tension and it seemed to fix it for 3 days or so.Today it started doing it again and I've adjusted it again but it seems to be all over the place. Now the door will only travel about a foot or so and reverse.I've adjusted it so much (everything) I don't know where to start anymore what do you suggest?

If you have to hold down the button to close the door, you are bypassing the sensors ...
Check the alignment of the sensors. Should see a solid GREEN light

I had the same problem on an older liftmaster door. It was the sensors and it started to malfunction as it colder out. I replaced the sensors but then got a new door so I replaced it with a fancy Chamberlain Whisper Drive guess what I also have the same problem with it as the cold has set it. Disconnect the door from the drive and see if it works without a load. Check the sensor performance. This can rule out a problem with the sensors. Check the sensor lights I think they are both supposed to glow green. I think it is a combination of problems associated with cold weather operation. I'm taking the unit back as it is still under warranty and buying a better unit of a different brand. I think there are only two manufacturers. This is probably not good news. The sensor replacements cost $60 if you go that route. How old is your unit?

I had this same problem and ended up paying the local garage door
service guy to solve it for me. The key is that the green sensor has
to be solid even when the door is in motion (regardless of the direction).
If the light flickers at all, this indicates that they are out of alignment.

I had this same problem, I could tell it was not the sensor due to me unhooking the garage door to the raining and hitting the button, it worked fine if I did that. What it ended up being was the bolts holding on the wheels to the door were loose, causing some friction at the end of the down process. Once I tightened them it worked fine.

I thought I had it but I tried this in cold weather the rubber drive belt will contract making the open think that it is binding or getting stuck so I think it is shutting itself down. I released some of the tension by loosing the nut adjacent to the tension spring. The door started working I will see if it works in the morning.

Many of these devices use a code that changes each time the door is opened and closed. This feature is used to keep potential bad people from learning your operational code and entering your garage. You may have a communication problem whereby the Garage Opener needs to be reset. You may try to change the settings. If you have dip switches on the main unit in the garage, change the dip switches to another setting and write down the numbers in the order that you have the set them, Then go to the remotes, hand held and hardware placed on the outside door, and change the settings on these devices to MATCH up with the inside unit. This is a good time to REPLACE the batteries also.

Garage door won't open or close using remote (light on lifter flashes twice) but will open and close using the button inside the garage.

WHEN HOLDING IT DOWN MAKES THE DOOR CLOSE PROPERLY THE PROBLEM IS IN THE SAFETY EYES.

ARE BOTH LEDS ON? - CHECK FOR A LOOSE OR BROKEN WIRE.

ARE THE EYES WIRED CORRECTLY?

ARE THEY AIMED AT EACH HOLDING DOWN THE WALL BUTTON OVERRIDES THE SAFETY EYES.

Chamberlain remote has stopped working, new

WHEN YOU CHANGE THE BATTERY NO NEED TO REPROGRAM THE REMOTE.
THE FLASHING LIGHT TELLS YOU IT IS SENDING A SIGNAL THAT IS BEING RECIEVED IT IS JUST NOT THE CORRECT CODE TO OPEN THE DOOR.
REPROGRAMING THE REMOTE SHOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM

HOPE THIS HELPS

My garage door opener willnot work inside trailblazer .

Do you have a antenna build into the windshield of your car? If so thats your problem and there not much you can do about it other then stick your hand out the window when you pull up, and point the wire coming from your opener toward the door itself. Do not cut or add to that wire.

The garage door works when it wants to.

You have a problem with the safety eyes. Make sure a light is on on both eyes. If not, realign until both lights come on.

My garage door opener doesnt close all the way.

The motor is probably either stalling because the door is too stiff, or you have a beam break detector that is being triggered when the door is halfway down.
