Hola Marc, por lo que comentas, puedes tener varias posibilidades de falla, primero deberias ver las correas de la mecanica, que no se encuentren estiradas o cortadas, por otro lado, cuando presionas la tecla play, el motor deberia funcionar, sino lo hace, podrias tener mal el motor o la llave que le envia corriente

Finalize is for multiple recordings. If its a single recording, its finalized by itself.

Check the Cassette drive motor. in the back of the motor there is a Speed adjuster. there is a Hole with a rubbler **** cover use tiny strait edge screw driver. turn clockwise and motor will speed up. easy way put in a cassette you know well and use that to adjust speed.

the turntable belt has likely broken, you may be able to fix it with a rupper band of suitable size.

First try cleaning the heads with some electronics grade alcohol and a static free cleaning swab...although it sounds like the head may need alignment...if those two things do not work out for you, the capstan motor might be the culprit.
