Sony LBT-D250 5 disc changer

My system has begun making a noise when turned on as though its trying to advance a cd. However there is no cd inside it and the tray does not move. The radio works, the cassette player works but you hear nothing but this noise. Anyone else have this problem?

Hello Susan, for what you are saying, you would have a problem with the mechanism of the player, very possibly some stretched strap, which does not have enough tension to make the displacement
I suggest you look for a specialized technical service
Greetings Franco Dosil

SOURCE: Cassette player not working

Cassette players usually have a little rubber band that connects the motor to the spindles. If everything else is fine, I would suggest seeing if it slipped off somehow (or got cracked and snapped)

I have a Sony Dav Fx888k DVD HOME THEATER System, It's a 5 disc changer. I am unable to insert the CD. It displays C 31 00.

The error code C 31 00 on Sony DVD Home Theater System usually indicates a mechanical issue with the disc changer mechanism. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
  1. Turn off the power to the DVD Home Theater System and unplug it from the wall outlet.
  2. Wait for a few minutes, then plug the system back in and turn it on.
  3. Press the "Eject" button on the remote or the unit to try to eject the disc tray.
  4. Gently try to move the disc tray by hand to see if it is stuck or obstructed.
  5. If the disc tray does not move, or if you hear any unusual noises, it may indicate a more serious mechanical issue that requires repair.
If none of these steps resolves the issue, it's recommended to contact Sony customer support or a qualified technician for further assistance.

Why does the fuse on my old lbt-d270 sony -disc changer keep blowing a fuse everytime I replace it?

Short circuited component/s at it internal circuit board. Contact any service technician. Never switch it on; without the fault have been rectified. It might make troubleshooting more complicated, and might cause more components damage.

I am getting a table error message

Hi, the error is because the cd changer is not turning, something block it! or ther is an audio cd inside that blocks the normal function or change the "rubber belt" that the motor drives for the disc system changer!, an other problem could be that is not reading the audio cd's.
If you do chek this shure you solve this problem

I have a sony 3 disc changer mini hifi stereo system model lbt-zuxiod and its been working fine untill today i turn it on and it keeps flashing DEST ERROR how do i fix this problem

I do not have any experience on your type of hifi but i reckon dest error refers to "Destination error" the 3 disc changer has a default home position of the disc carousel that it goes to when first starting up. I would suggest that somthing is preventing the cd mechanism from getting there to it's home when it starts up. This could be from a cd or foreign object jam, broken motor( or worn motor) broken or dirty sensor that detects where the mechanism is or broken cable connecting the two.
The key to finding this out after you fix the jam, would be to note if the mechansism is travelling, whether it sounds forced or if it's not moving at all. this will tell you whether it's motor or sensor related.
As I said I don't have any experience on this one, perhaps someone more qualified could comment...
Good Luck!

LBT-XG500

Power protect tends to mean the main power amp chip has "blown" and needs to be replaced. It only costs about 20 dollars (10GBP). If you are handy with a soldering iron it is easy to do (after you get the thing to bits !) It is the big black thing on the big heatsink inside. The Sony part number is STK442 - 130. Seems a waste to throw the whole thing away for the sake of 10 pounds !. Hope this helps. Nik Howell ([email protected])
