Just bought a Samsung external DVD drive SE-S084B for my AAO D150. There is no audio when I play a DVD. CDs play fine on the drive, and DVDs burned with the drive play fine on other DVD players. I've gone thru every audio-related setting I can find. What's going on??
Nothing went wrong but it require audio codecs to be installed your DVD drive must be having a CD with it which has nero burning softwares and other like nero show time and dvd codecs. Install this programe from the cd supplied with it. use power DVD etc. many softwares are there .dvd play back
Testimonial: "Thanks so much! That is exactly what the problen was. I thought I had installed all the software that was with my external drive, but I hadn't."
You can find these reasons from the following aspects when your player plays no sound: Blu-ray player audio settings, HDMI cable connection error, incompatibility between your Blu-ray player and TV and Blu-ray discs damage or restriction.

Was that an auto-generated "solution?" I appreciate the response, but you obviously didn't read very carefully.
I'm not having an problems burning DVDs. DVDs I've burned on the drive are not missing audio. Like I said: "DVDs burned with the drive play fine on other DVD players." The problem is: when I play a DVD, even a store-bought one, I get no audio.
There is nothing wrong with the DVD, there is nothing wrong with the drive. I can plug the drive into my desktop and play DVDs without issue. I plug the same drive containing the same DVD into my netbook, and there is no audio.
No other audio problems (that I'm aware of) with the netbook. I can play CDs no problem. I can burn DVDs no problem. The problem is only when playing DVDs: no sound.
Netbook and drive are both brand new.
I've checked for driver updates. Everything is current.
