This is a problem that a lot of early neptune models had. it is most likely the wax motor on the door lock assembly is bad and needs replaced. but, almost every time that I've had that wax motor go out, it has blown the board also, therefore you also need to replace the control board. to see if the board is bad, you need to remove the 3 screws on the top of the control panel. then the panel slides forward a little and roll the top toward you. you will see the control board there. it is a large board, if the wax motor blew it, the R-11 resistor will be blown. it is easier to just look for a black spot on the board, if you do then see which one is blown and look at the numbers for that resistor. if it is the R-11 that is blown, then the board and wax motor need replaced. just a warning, the board is around $200. if you check this and that is not the problem, let me know. there are a couple other things that can cause your issue, but this is by far the most common, and unfortunately, the most expensive. good luck, shane.

My maytag neptune mah3000aww spins slowly then reverses, then spins slowly. will not reach regular spinning speed. What is the problem?

it could be a balance problem. Most machines are programmed to abort fast spin if the drum is unbalanced. This can be caused by too much in there, or possible the contents have clumped together somehow. Try a spin cycle only with an empty machine and see if it reaches full spin

Neptune MAH3000AWW won't shut off automatically

Sound like there is a fault in the control panel. Check the manufacturers website and see if there is a recall on this model. If, not, then take the panel off, and check the selector switch which controls the cycles. See if there is a catch that is not engaging, or not making contact. If this is a digital, board, then you might have to replace the whole entire control panel. Check the instruction booklet on how to order this part. Install should be very easy, just remove a few screws, and swap the parts out.

GE whdre526 washer transmission problems

Can you move the transmission pulley by hand both directions forward and backward? If not, bad transmission. As I vaguely recall wash cycle motor goes in one direction, for the spin cycle it goes in the opposite direction. So my guess is the "reversing" also known as flipflop switch. A headlight dimming relay is such a switch. The switch may be a problem a problem. You may be able to test this theory by energizing different leads and observing motor direction. There may be a diagram Identifying leads. You may be able to verify my "vague" recall by Google washing machine motor function/s or google motor number and see if it is a reversible motor. The online appliance parts guys are usually very helpful. Ask about reversing switch I'm sure they have some answers. The switch is probably reversed by a momentary signal just as the signal for head light dimming is a momentary voltage signal. So know you know how to live test the reversing switch. If it doesn't reverse. It is most likely the problem. However, if it does test out as good, your signal from the "clock" is bad. Hope this helps.

Making loud noise in the spin cycle and now does not spin at all

Sounds like the tub bearing is gone. Get it checked out though. It could be the pump bearing, a cheaper fix. Or as bad as the tub bearing, a motor bearing.

Maytag neptune mah3000aww spin problem

there are 2 wires going back to the board. They connect to a blue harness. Make sure their is continuity thru the harness. It connects to 3 out of balance swithches. Also check to see if lock light comes on.

Washer washes and wont spin clothes in either the wash or rinse cycle

If you have little to no agitation (as well as spin), look for a broken motor coupling (connects motor to transmission).
If the motor coupling is ok, open the lid and select a spin cycle, insert a flat screwdriver or pen into the lid switch and try pushing the drum along in a clockwise direction. If it doesn't spin or spins slowly then the brake/clutch assembly is slipping and will need to be replaced.
Good luck!

Incomplete wash cycle.

It sounds as if you have something acting as a flap causing the restriction. You should take the hose that leads from the tub to the pump off and see if there is anything just inside the tub. I have noticed that alot times you could have a coin that blocks the opening. You may have to remove the inner tub to remove anything in there
