Apple iphone wont register a charge, resets dont work

My iphone wont charge on a power plug or USB, I can't even get it to bring up the battery icon. It had gone flat and I put it on the charger and the battery icon came up then disappeared. The phone did not register a charge at all. I have tried all the resets including having it on the charger for a couple of hours and then holding down the reset and home button to bring up the battery icon. I can get the apple icon to come up but no battery - the apple comes up whenever I push the reset button and then disappears after a few seconds.

It's not booting up. hook it to the computer and see if iTunes sees it when you bring it up holding home and power for 6 secs. then releasing power and hold home longer. Restore it when itunes sees it and it should work again.

I have had my iphone less than a week- i did not expect it to have problems so soon. .... i have iphone 2g my battery ran out now it wont recharge or turn back on? .... but it doesn't turn on, it...

If your iPhone's battery runs very far down, the iPhone won't turn on. That's because it's using its remaining battery life to preserve your data and settings. So, your iPhone could be refusing to turn on because its battery doesn't have enough juice. In that case, plug your iPhone into a wall charger or into your computer (plug it directly into the computer; some USB ports on keyboards don't have enough power to charge iPhones). Let it sit for 10-20 minutes. If it was low on battery and needed a charge, when it's got enough juice to power the screen, it will turn on and show you its charging status, starting with the red battery icon.During this process, you may also want to make sure there's no lint packed into your cable or the iPhone's dock connector. This isn't a hugely common problem, but a lot of pocket lint could interfere with the iPhone getting a charge.

I downloaded updates on my iPhone 3G, did a reset as required after downloading updates and now my iPhone wont charge, I press the on button top right even hold it for 10sec with and without home button...

Held the home button and power button for 10sec, released the power button after apple icon appeared and continued to hold the home button until the USB cable icon appeared (this action prepares the iPhone for Factory reset), now connect iPhone to iTunes and follow the prompts! Note: when you restore your iPhone everything will be deleted to Factory Settings and you will only be able to retrieve your settings to the most recent back up you have stored, any data not stored in iTunes, example: (SMS, appointments in Calender), will be lost!

My iphone won't sync with itunes. it did at first but now keeps coming up with an error I have an original iphone, never been jailbroken or any such thing, and can not currently get it to sync with itunes...

Recharge
Make sure iPhone is charged. Connect to a USB port and look for the lightning bolt battery icon in the upper right. If you don't see this icon, then iPhone is not charging. The battery will charge to 80% in an hour.
Note: If you put your computer into sleep mode while iPhone is connected via USB, iPhone may not charge.

This screen means to keep iPhone connected so it continues charging. Please note:
If iPhone is not sufficiently charged it will not show up in iTunes
Use a high-power USB port such as the one on your computer, or use your iPhone AC adapter.
Don't use the USB port on your keyboard because it is a low-power port and iPhone will not charge.
Make sure you are using USB to charge. Accessories that use FireWire to charge are not supported with iPhone.
If you see the red part of the battery image flash three times and then the screen goes black, it means that iPhone is not receiving power to charge.

If the above steps dont resolve follow the following steps :
Retry with a different USB port.
Note:
Don't use the USB port on your keyboard because it is a low-power port and iPhone will not charge.

If the above steps dont resolve follow the following steps :
Restart

Try restarting iPhone. To turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Does iPhone appear frozen or stuck? Try pressing and holding the Home button for at least 6 seconds to close a frozen application. Then try restarting iPhone again.

Note: If that doesn't work, try restarting your computer.
If the above steps dont resolve follow the following steps :
Reinstall

Reinstall iTunes 7.7 or later.
Get the latest version of iTunes (7.3 or later) from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Thanks.
