Grab your phone and the USB cable that came with it. If you need some additional help setting up and using your new phone, see Windows Phone 6.5 basics for more information.
Step 2: Download the sync software for your computer
Choose the sync software for your computer's operating system, which you can download here:
•
If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7, your sync settings will be managed through Windows Mobile Device Center.
•
If you have Windows XP SP3, your sync settings will be managed through ActiveSync which can be downloaded from MS website.

Hi. While holding power button, and pressing reset will do a hard reset to your PDA (reset the device to its factory default settings). So if your PDA is working well, don't do it. As for the syncronization with your Vista PC; Winodws XP uses the ActiveSync software for syncronization, and for Windows Vista, Microsoft developed a brand new syncronization software called "Windows Mobile Device Center". It can be downloaded here: (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center-download.mspx). When you download/install this software to your PC, you should be able to connect your PDA to your PC without any problem, and definitely without changing any OS in your PDA or PC. Hope this helps.

You need to sync your phone to your PC using a usb cable and Activesync 4.5 ( free from Microsoft) or Windows Mobile Device Center ( for Vista, also free on MS download site). Download either of these programs onto your phone, and plug your phone to your computer with the usb cable, The wizard will help you setup your connection. Once the connection is established, Activesync will generate a sync folder on your desktop. Your pictures will sync from your phone to this folder
