Philips 50" plasma has faded screen

My 50" philips plasma just quit working right the other day. The screen still shows the picture, it is just really faded. The sound works fine. Also the normally blue light was flashing red. Can anyone help please. I miss my TV.

Try rechecking the TV connector power supply in the back. Check the TV wire plug in for HDMI etc if it is loose. If no change then your T-con board could be defective. Order one on ebay or have a tech fix it.

I was watching Dish Network and my Philips 50 inch Plasma showed a line in the middle of the screen and then it made a snap sound and the picture went out at that time. I already replaced the power supply...

The capacitors in the power supply you replaced it with are probably blown. Take off the back of the TV and check the capacitors... shown in the picture (in a similar philips model). If they are bulging out instead of flat on the top... they may be bad. If you replaced the power supply before with a unit that had the original capacitors in it, they wear out and only have "X" amount of hours of life. (More below pic)

As far as sound... you may replace the sound board. It's shown in the photo in the center bottom right. Not sure on your TV without opening it or checking the model out more. Good luck

My philips plasma 42PF5620 is barely two years old and not with much use on it. the picture quality seems to have diminuished and when the screen is blank one can notice some vrtical fadig on the left and...

I think there is a fault with the screen itself. Even though it is two years old and probably out of guarantee I think you have a genuine case to have Philips do something about it. Without putting my neck on the block and so it costs you as little as possible you have to somehow persuade Philips technical department to examine the tv to admit a manufacturing fault but usually you have to commision an independant examination yourself which could be quite expensive for it to be confirmed there is a fault with the screen BEFORE going to Philips with your findings. And even if they did admit to the tv screen being faulty they might not do nothing unless you pay some of the cost, again which could be quite expensive. Please seek legal advice and post how you got on every step of the way. Hope this helps and the very best of luck.
