I have a philips home Soundbar. We had a power surge yesterday during a storm. It was plugged into a surge protector but now its stuck in standby. It sat unplugged overnight and is still stuck in standby mode. How can I possibly reset this?

Amp is probable going into protection mode. Disconnected all speaker and av wires (only power) and check if it switches on. Try to plugged it in also at another wallsocket. Presume PSU damaged by surge

Be sure you are hooking up the Audio Output from the TV or satellite to the soundbar.
From the satellite box both Audio Output and Video Output go to the TV, and then Audio Output from the TV goes to the soundbar. Or From the satellite box Video Output goes to the TV and Audio Output goes to the soundbar.
My soundbar won't power up. So I pull the battery out of remote, press a few buttons, put the battery back in and all of a sudden the device can be powered up and controlled. Until next time it stops responding. I replaced that original battery with a new one but the problem still persists.
It basically has an Optical input, or a coaxial input. Use whichever input is available for you from your TV digital output, to the soundbar. If it still doesn't work, the soundbar is probably damaged. For more information, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.
Connect optical cable to soundbar and tv. Plug in the soundbar. One gotcha -- the red light on the soundbar means the power is off. No light means the power is on.
1. Check the power cord is plugged in properly by removing it and replacing it. 2. Try a different outlet on the surge protector.3. Most surge protectors have a reset button, try resetting it. Is the sound bar the only device plugged into the surge protector?
I'm very sorry to hear about your unfortunate new's. I had the same problem in my own home maybe a week ago.
Basically if your power flickered on and off at anytime during this storm then there was a power surge that probably fried your TV. * First check the power where the tv was plugged in. Is it a power strip or a surge protector ? Surge protectors typically have an on/off switch and a separate reset push button.
If it is a power strip then the tv fried because there was nothing to stop it from happening (not even the fuse). If it was plugged into a surge protector then it could be quiet a few years old and not as reliable or the surge was to powerful for the limit on the surge protector.
The only thing you can do personally is send it in for repair if it's under warranty, if it is not then you can have it looked at by an authorized repair technician in your area. Troubleshooting should be fairly low, and you will at least be able to find out your options once they find the defected part.
Unplug everything! There is a "breaker" in the power supply and it may need to be reset. Just unplug all cables from the TV and outlets. Let it sit for a couple hours then plug everything back in and it should work fine. If not then the power supply has shorted out due to a strong power surge. You can claim it under your home owners insurance or call Nintendo and try to get it replaced. Thanks! Good luck and happy gaming!!
