I can't get my camera (Lumix DMC-FZ50) to take pictures. Every time I turn it on it displays, "MEMORY CAR ERROR PLEASE CHECK THE CARD". I've tried 3 different SD cards from 2GB to 8GB and always get the...

Were these cards from another camera and now you want to start using them in the Lumix? If so, you must format the card in the Lumix to get it to work. This will erase the card so download any pics first.

Error on formating new memory card in camera error says memory card is full brand new card i tried 2 in faact same error kodak c310

The lever on your SD card might be turned the wrong way so the SD card is reading protective.
Please turn the lever and try again.

The SD card might not be supported by the model: Your camera Memory card support is SD/MMC up to 2 Gigabyte and SDHC up to 8 Gigabyte

The SD card might not be faulty, try another card, since the camera could give you a message like the one you're experiencing.
Try with a different SD card that is supported by the camera.

Memory card error

The memory card could be too big. Some camera's can only use a certain size memory card. You will have to check your manual to see what the specifications for your memory cards. Hope this helps.

Memory card error

If the card works on OTHER devices, and you've formatted the cards... the only conclusion you can really have is that it's a problem with the camera. Repair or replace.

Camera reading memory card error, cannot get it to work. Tried removeing the card and replacing batteries. Checked and it is not locked.

try formatting the card once on a pc and then plug it in your camera....if that does not help either, you'll have to try a different card.

I am getting an error cf..tried to format card and get error 99

I Googled the error code you're getting, and found a list of things to try and steps to attempt directly from Canon. Try out some of the stuff below, it should help.

To isolate the cause of the issue, we suggest that you do the following:
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Remove the lens, battery, and CF card.
3. Allow the camera to sit without power for approximately 20 minutes.
4. Insert a fully charged battery, and turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.
Does the “ERR 99′ message appear? If it does, then the camera should be serviced. If it does not, then please proceed to the next set of steps:
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Insert the CF card.
3. Turn on the camera.
4. Format the CF card in the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.
Does the “ERR 99′ message appear? If so, then the CF card is the most
likely source of the issue. Try using a different card.
If the message does not appear, please complete the following steps:
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Clean the lens contacts by gently rubbing them with a pencil eraser
or soft cloth. Be careful that you do not let any debris fall into the
camera body.
3. Reattach your lens.
4. Turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.
If the “ERR 99′ message only appears when one particular lens is attached, then that lens should be examined by a service technician.
If you see the “ERR 99′ with a different Canon lens attached, then the camera should be serviced.

HElppppppppppppp

Has your camera always done this? Or is this a recent problem.
Also, have you changed your memory card, and that has caused your error?
Some times if you use a higher capacity memory card than the camera can use (especially with the xD card format) you will encounter very wierd errors, as the camera is trying to read or save to the card.

One thing to check is the memory card type. Olympus uses the xD card, BUT in the last couple years they have changed the format, from an xD card to an xD card type "M". The type M has a different file structure, and older cameras, and ones that can't support the "M" format might give odd errors.

I checked Olympus' website and I did NOT find any drivers for your camera, which is odd. Try uninstalling and reinstalling your software, and also check your memory card. If you have an extra around, try using it (I wouldn't recommend go buying a new one as many places do NOT let you return memory cards).
Let me know if this helps!
