Hello there! Focus ring lock means that some how the focus ring is not turning freely. If it turns easilly then inside the optocoupler unit which reads out the movement of ring must be dust or damage.in the flexicable. Therefore somehow the camera should be disassembled got cleaned by pressurized air in case of dust and reassembled and hopefully it should work without problem.

My Panasonic TZ25 says "System Error - Focus". What should I do?

Panasonic DMC TZ25 compact camera - System Error (Focus)
- Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera (suggested by Andrea Lock, above). I actually had to try this several times as camera was refusing to reset properly, but after a few goes, lens retracted and camera began to work again. Thanks Andrea.

How and When to use AUTO FOCUS and MANUAL FOCUS of my contax t2 camera?

There are no rules or conventions for this. It is totally up to you to chose which method to use.

Sometimes when taking images in close up where a leaf or stalk may invoke autofocus to lock onto the wrong object to get a clear pic, then select manual so your subject is in focus

Depth Of Field is also associated with focusing, autofocus does not always deal well ith DOF situations. It might be better for you to get a simple book on digital photography to help you understand how to get the best results from your camera

Ag-dvx102a can,t focus manual

you can't manual focus if you have a remote control hooked up to the focus/iris port on the camera, you will only be able to use the remote. Otherwise, try turning off Auto Focus.

Camera will not focus and on AF it flashes green dot with a 9

the flashing green dot is caused by the camera not able to focus, and is typically from the following:

1. not enough light - if you are in Aperture Priority, try increasing the ISO
2. low contrast subjects - the camera can't find a good point to focus on
3. overlapping near/far objects - again, the camera can't decide which one to focus on
4. Repetitive patterns

You can go into manual focus, or, auto focus on something the same distance away and lock the focus and shoot.

Focus error show up and can't take any pictures

Had "FOCUS ERROR" appear on my Finepix S9500. The lens seemed to be stuck at the extremity of focus range. I resorted to hitting the camera on a table while turning it off (because this is when it sounded as though the focus motor was trying to move the lens back). Guess what? It worked!!!!!

5d focus confirmation light

Just a wild guess, but in predictive AI focus mode you need a subject in motion for focus to lock and focus adjustment is continous until the exposure is made, in one-shot AF or manual focus mode focus will lock on still subjects. Super nice camera btw.

H1 out of focus above 7xzoom?

HI, are you sure that there is no conversion lens setting activated in the setup menu? It sounds like that to me. These modes limit the ranges. I hope it will help, otherwise you will have to bring it back.

Auto Focus Problem

Way to check settings is to take the batteries out for a while, it should revert to factory default settings. I tell a lot of People to try this, it works an amazing number of times. Auto focus looks for vertical lines, what are You shooting at? Try rotating the camera 90 degrees, if it locks better,Bingo. Subjects without much contrast are hard to lock focus on

Focus Problem

Low light focus lock can be a problem with this camera. But in normal or bright light there should be no problem with auto focus lock. If this is a new problem, you should check to see if a setting has been changed. With so many options, it is easy to accidently set something that causes unusual results (been there, done that). First ... Go to the Setup Menu and see that the "All Reset" option is selected. This will cause everything to be reset to factory default each time you power-on the camera. Turn the camera off and then turn the camera on. Then take some test photos to see if your auto-focus-lock is improved. If that works, there is no need to check the items below. If that does not work, here are some control changes to try. Remember if you turn off the camera everything gets reset. That camera uses contrast detection for auto focus and it is normally set to "Multi-Area Auto Focus". Try changing it to "Spot Auto Focus" and do some tests, including with the camera set to one of the programs or manual mode. There is another setting called "Autofocus Area", you should investigate. Check your manual to determine what you can do with this control. There is another control called something like "continuous auto focus". Check the manual for further information. If none of the above help, it is time to see about some camera repairs.
