Uniden radar detector

As a radar detector, it receives signals from everywhere...Hospitals, automatic door openers, and microwaves and in most cases these are filtered to provide you a detection of a police speed enforcement radar. These particular detectors also detect laser light. In all cases, it is merely a receiver of a signal sent. This is why a number of people have positioned their defense of use of a radar detector as simply receiving a signal under the freedom of speech aspect of the Bill of rights. The actual function is a detection of a particular light wave and a triggering to a sound or light alert.

This model has been out of production for quite some time. You could try contacting Uniden to see if, by chance, they still have some replacement speakers for this older RD model. In any event, you would be well served to purchase a modern radar detector which provides far better performance. Personally, I recommend products produced by the following manufacturers:

Bel
Escort
Whistler (their higher end products -- XTR-690 model or higher. Their Pro78 or newer Pro78SE is one of my favorites.)

Uniden has been out of the radar detector business for some time now. I would strongly suggest getting a different radar detector instead of using this older model since newer radar detector models generally have far better performance -- especially for detecting Ka band radar.

Anyway, Uniden's web site does not list an instruction manual for this particular radar detector model. Yet, take a look at the instruction manual for the most similarly numbered product model shown in the following link:

One of the instruction manuals in the above link should be similar enough to your radar detector so that you can figure out everything regarding your specific Uniden RD model.

The best place online to learn about radar detectors and how to use them is radardetector.net. I would highly recommend a new radar detector model compared to any old Uniden radar detector. Uniden has been out of the radar detector business for some time now.

Don't use this radar detector. It is horribly outdated technology and will lead to a speeding ticket. I am not joking.
