That's an OS problem, or malware. If you're running Windows, try to boot into safe mode (press F8 and choose "safe mode" or F5) and see if you get your desktop back. You can go directly into recovery mode from the F8 boot mode selection menu also.

Dell XPS 1530 will not start up black screen. Tried holding down the Fn, F8 & on buttons, but still wont start

Hi David,

The fact you have no screen to get into the BIOS menu, indicates a big problem, and the culprit is the car power adapter.

Never, ever, use anything but the recommended adapter to power your unit, else disaster, followed by an agonising death for your PC/Laptop.

Your cars amperage is not compatible with your units amperage, unless you are using recommended DELL adapter for the car.

I hope you have not pickled your unit, but if so, you'll know better next time.

Cheers,
Peter

I have a Dell xps 1530 Laptop , that service tag is J4WMD3J , i try to change my cmos password at that time system will goes off after that my old password and new password r not working, so that i cant...

If you have not placed a password on the hard drive then you can recover your data from your hard drive by removing the hard drive from the laptop and plug it into an USB hard drive adapter.
Then plug this USB adapter into a working computer's USB port and this computer will see this as an external storage device. You can then open the various folders and files to back up your data.

XPS 1530 won't start up property

Hi there.
While you are in safe mode perform a system restore and take the computer back at least 2 - 7 days before the problems started.
Don't worry about loosing any data as system restore does not delete files.
Please post back if you need anymore help.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
