Hey, i have the same problem kinda, i starts up an all but what i have to write my password to enter the computer. it does not show,, only a black screen,, But,, I can see the mous thing.. i realy need help !
That's an OS problem, or malware. If you're running Windows, try to boot into safe mode (press F8 and choose "safe mode" or F5) and see if you get your desktop back. You can go directly into recovery mode from the F8 boot mode selection menu also.

If you have not placed a password on the hard drive then you can recover your data from your hard drive by removing the hard drive from the laptop and plug it into an USB hard drive adapter.
Then plug this USB adapter into a working computer's USB port and this computer will see this as an external storage device. You can then open the various folders and files to back up your data.
try logging in safe mode first upon turning system on tap on F8 then select safe mode, once logged in safe mode to a system restore to the date before this issue happend if system restore gives an error it failes tr going back to system restore in safe mode the do a disc defragmentation click start, accessories, system tools, system restore then select restore my computer to an earlier time then select the date when everything was working fine
I guess you selected XPS M 1530. or for even any other dell laptop on this planet. you can install the audio drivers from the following page.
Remember: - even though if you are not using XPS computer. you can click on add and edit service tag. and enter your computer service tag. and make sure to check if the os you are installing for and then click on audio. and there would be 1 or 2 files. install the file which has driver written on it.
TO CHANGE THE COMPUTER MODEL OR ENTER A SERVICE TAG OR DIRECTLY DOWNLOAD THE AUDIO DRIVERS FOR XPS M 1530.
Hi there. While you are in safe mode perform a system restore and take the computer back at least 2 - 7 days before the problems started. Don't worry about loosing any data as system restore does not delete files. Please post back if you need anymore help.
I do believe that xps 1530 is built in for vista, that only thing that i can suggest you is you can try to look for the specific driver on other xps laptops for example your chipset is intel mobile then choose xp as the operating system or just directly search in support.dell.com
