Memory upgarde ipaq 3630

Hi there,
For hanging/Jam problem, few factors can be involved, First of all you have to check, how much space is being left in phone memory after installing particular applications, To check the settings, Go to settings, Memory,
Solutions:
1. Soft Reset,
Try resetting the device while hold down the End Key for few seconds, when the phone is switched off take off battery for few minutes, then try putting the battery again, It will clear the memory used by the softwares,
CAUTION: Make sure to close all running applications before performing a soft reset, since a soft reset erases all unsaved data in such applications.



2. Hard Reset
Hard reset will restore your Ipaq to factory default settings, Perform a factory or hard reset when there is a need to clear all settings, programs, and data from the RAM.

1. Turn off your iPAQ by holding down the End key.
2. Then hold down the center of the 4-Way Navigation key and turn on the iPAQ again while continuing to do so
   
   3. A confirmation screen opens asking whether you want to perform a hard reset or not. SelectYes . The iPAQ will reboot with its original factory settings.

NOTE: The applications and data present on your iPAQ before performing the hard reset can be reinstalled by synchronizing your iPAQ with a computer using ActiveSync/WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center).

- Yes, memory will increase - you can install programs on card instead of internal memory

- no, you can't install SIM card as there's no apropriate slot to accomodate it

Have you tried other SD cards?  The box is uncheck for default install folder?  Maybe update the device.  

unfortunatly this isnt a new issue. http://computing.net/pda/wwwboard/forum/838.html It sounds as though your recharging system has went on the fritz. If this is the case then money signs are going to soon be appearing. replacing the charging system is impracticle and the system blocks startup so this would even cause a new battery to not function properly and also probably what ruined your previous one.

did you install the following: "iPAQ H3970/H3975 SD Card Driver Updates version 1.1 (27 Oct 03)" SP25681 - Resolves performance issues with SD memory card. - Resolves undetected SD memory card. - Resolves lockups due to SD memory card.

For data files, you navigate to them with File Explorer, tap and hold on their names, a pop up appears. Choose Move to, and then you'll be asked for a location. But data files probably should be moved to a storage card, rather than the File Store. As for programs, it's risky just to move them from one location to another. The safer course is to Remove them (Settings -- System -- Remove Programs) and re-install them to the new location. When installing via ActiveSync, when the installer asks: "Install to default location," answer No, and you'll get a menu asking where. Choose File Store from the drop down. Good luck.
