Before hooking up the laptop to the TV, lower your resolution on your laptop then shut it down. Just for testing purposes I would try 640X480 since you can always change it. Hook up the laptop to the TV and then turn on your laptop. See if it goes into windows with the display showing on the TV. If it does then reboot the laptop and try a few more times. If your consistently getting video then you can play around with the resolutions. If your still having video issues, try a new video cable. Also update your video drivers to the latest version on your laptop. If the problem still persists update your BIOS to the latest version. Hopefully that will do it but if not then its an issue with the motheboard.
I have a Toshiba HD LCD tV, model 37AV50U. the screen is black. I still get audio and can change the channels but the screen stays black. It doesn't even show the menu box. Is this something I can fix myself?
What type of cabling are you using to connect your TV to your Set-Top Box?
