First time connection?

My symbol MC9090-G scanner did not come with an installation CD. I have tried to connect the cradle via USB but the PC does not read it. Any tips?

The MC9090 does not require any installation.

All it requires that you have ActiveSync installed on you PC. That can be downloaded directly from Microsoft. got to www.microsoft.com and just seach for activesync.

Just make sure that the MC9090 is configured to comminicate via USB

Settings >> System >> USBConfig

Make sure it is set to [USB Client Mode].

Also

Settings >> Connections >> USB to PC

Make sure that [Enable advanced network functionality] is ticked.

You need to have active sync in your computer to connect pda to computer

How to upload files to a mc9090 scanner from a PC

We use a HHT base station that is connected via USB and then use Microsoft ActiveSync software to connect. Once connected you can explore the HHT from the PC and drag and drop to the HHT.

TMC program does not see Symbol mc9090. I've done this a dozen times on my old PC and it has always worked. I got a new PC, down laoded all the programs that were on the old PC (I think) but cannot connect...

When the PC looks for a driver, select the option to choose a location. When prompted for a location, point it to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Symbol\TCM2\USB Driver
This is the default location after installing the Device Configuration Package (DCP).

How do you enable the scanner on the MC9090 fresh out of the box?

Easiest and quickest way is to go to:-

http://support.symbol.com/support/product/softwaredownloads.do

select your unit type from the pull down menu's and search for Datawedge. Install it through ActiveSync. You will require a cradle and USB cable and ActiveSync installed on your host PC.

Once installed it will allow you to enter barcodes directly into apps on the MC9090.

How to connect pc to motorola pda mc 9090

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by this question. You might want to give a little more detail. Do you have a single slot cradle? You'll want to get one if you don't have one. Then you connect the cradle to the PC using a standard USB cable.

To be able to browse the files on the PDA from the PC, and copy files to it, install software on it through the USB connection, etc, you will want to download and install ActiveSync on your PC. Just google ActiveSync and you will find it on Microsoft's web site. It is a free download.

Not able to connect to MC9090 using ActiveSync 4.5

This sometimes happens when I abuse Activsync with multiple terminals. It essential dies and I have to restart the machine.

I would also check that your host PC services.

Goto Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Sevices.

Check

Server
Workstation

They should be started and set to automatic.
