I thought I was crazy - one day I open the door and a live mouse is in my dishwasher. I have a Maytag Quiet Series 400 that is less than 2 yrs old. Not thinking to do some internet research, I decide to **** the racks out and investigate the problem then & there. I found gnaw marks on the vent cover and immediately knew this is where the varmit was coming in. What I don't know is how to stop it. One mouse has been caught, now there appears to be another. I'm ready to **** the entire unit out and replace it with a new one. This is my 3rd Maytag product, the first two being a washer & dryer, and both were problematic. No more Maytags for me!

Do the dishwasher racks have chips or scratches showing exposed metal underneath?
If minor rack repairs are needed, a dishwasher rack repair kit just
might work. To review this product or purchase the kit, click here.
Should you purchase the kit online, enter Promo Code F9A75Q4 in the Review Order screen when you check out to receive a 10% discount on your order.
For more severe rack damage, a replacement rack may need to be
purchased; call the Maytag Customer eXperience Center toll-free at
1-866-616-2601, Monday-Friday, 8AM-6PM, Eastern Time.
I would call the toll free number and see if a free replacement is available. If not at least try to get a big discount on replacing them.
Good luck and thanks for using Fix Ya, please take the time to rate this solution (from Fix Ya, not Maytag, I didn't like their solution).

SOURCE: Maytag Quiet Series 300 dishwasher, dishes come out dirty
A water softner will not make the dishes any cleaner, it just makes it so they don't have water spots on them.
If the dishes are dirty, it is most likely that the nozzles (holes) in arms may be plugged.
Also check to make sure you are getting plenty of water to dishwasher. Make sure all water valves are full turned open.
If the control panel does not work all the time, it is very likely you have either a shorted wire, or a fualty main board which is very common in newer machines.
SOURCE: The handle on my Maytag Quiet series 100
I had the same problem with my QS 100. I disconnected power first via the breaker then removed the 11 screws. I couldn't loosen the two electrical connections, but the door pulled far enough away to inspect the handle mechanism. The plastic handle fell out of whole handle assembly rather easily because two molded plastic pins protuding from either side had broken off and were loose inside. There was also a pair of molded plastic v-shaped forks right on the panel to hold the handle assembly and these were damaged but they just to seem to act as guides only (as the handle assembly is held in by two of the screws that were removed). Replacing the v-shaped forks would require a whole new door which I am NOT doing. It looks like I can a replacement handle in the same color with new pins (I am reading they may now be metal) for about ##15. Pretty easy to disassemble and inspect, only about 15 minutes.

most likely you have a bad motor when replacing the motor ihave found it is cheaper to get the pump with the motor attached where as they charge you more money for just the motor or the pump seprately try allbrands appliance parts they seem to be cheaper
