I will try to update the TV firmware first, you may log on Samsung support webpage to check is there a firmware update for your TV model & update it.
Also, you may go to the on screen menu to reset the TV to factory default to clean up the internet data buffer.

Model LE40A656AIF is a 2008 model LCD TV that was discontinued by Samsung. Since Samsung quit making LCD TVs in 2011, I believe that yours is starting to fail. Since repairs on a discontinued item can cost nearly as much as it originally cost, I would suggest getting a new TV.
colour wheel needs new replacement its worn out cos its a moving/spinning part hence not synchronizing with the digital dmd board u may have to replace the whole light engine unit cos colour wheel comes inbuilt the light engine u will need a tech to replace
Hi sound like digital board gone.There is another possibility of bad connection or lost connection between main board and digital board.Hope that helps.
it depends on what your using it for, adjust colour tones to what you think looks natural, contrast between 80-90, keep sharpness below 30. just have a play around till you find what best suits the source material.
