There are no mystery at all. If you leave flat battery inside watch for a long period of time, battery may explode or leak. Leakage is happening most often and when it happens it is allmost invisible to naked eye.
However, the leaking solution consists of various chemical solutions and they react with metal, alloy, brass, led and other metal parts of which watch movement is made. This process is called ''oxidation'' and it works like rust on metal. You can see it wth a help of magnifier and it looks like tiny fungus layer all over various metal parts. This layer do not transmit electricity as well.
Sometimes it's possible to repair watch (depending on how much damage has been done), but in my experience few times I came across the situation that new movement replacement was needed.
All watch manufacturers are advising not to leave watches with flat battery in and if not changed for the new one ASAP, get the flat battery out of watch.
All you can do is to find your watch repair shop and ask what's possible to do. Speak to the watchmaker, not the jeweller.
Best of luck with your watch.
P.S. Please note that I am just explaining what the problem is and your rating or feedback should not be based on your negative emotions.

Battery corrosion is typically the culprit but if the watch is a chronometer you may also need to "AC" the watch. That is the watch may need to be reset for it to work after the battery change, You will need to see someone familiar with the procedure, a watchmaker or technician.

Pulsar analog/digital watch model number 130139

Clearly, it is faulty and has some type of parasitic drain. All watch batteries should last a couple of years. My Seiko last for about 3 to 4 years. Return it to Pulsar or a repair agent for repair.

What year is a pulsar V031-5080

https://picclick.co.uk/Pulsar-Ana-Digi-Gold-Tone-Watch-V031-5080-302636375150.html

Watch for sale dated November 1985.

Mens Pulsar Ana Digi Watch v031-5080 - Gold Tone - Spares or Repairs

Super condition gold tone ana digi watch
Build date Nov 1985 (see code on photos)

Very light wear, nice clean crystal, case and original Pulsar strap - see photos

Worked perfectly up until a few months ago - then 'had a moment', started flashing, then died and refused to fire up again - this watch is currently not working

Battery swapped out for a brand new Renata (incl) but still no joy

Watch has not been wet nor has there been any battery leakage - so unsure of the fix - or the reason for its inop

As such being sold as spares or repairs - if you have a spare movement to drop in then you would have very desirable, rare Pular (by Seiko) ana digi watch - a really nice clean piece from the '80's

Too good just to leave in a drawer so one for the collector, restorer/repairer or those looking for a very clean cased donor watch to drop in a working mech

Thanks and happy bidding

Put new battery in pulsa chronograph 100m watch how do I get it working Plz help

You might need a jump start the watch, or cleaning. I usually try using a air dust blower ball to get all the particles that is invisible to the eye, you can do this on the movement and around the battery area. Aftwards try inserting the battery again then pull out the stem and move it clockwise at least 10 times passing the 12'o clock marker. If the watch is not brough back to life you can try one last thing before buying a new movement or taking it to the watch repair shop. If you take it to watch repair shop they might charge you a few bucks to jump start the movement. I hope this helps. Marcelo

I would return it sounds not like a batt. problem but internal mechanical. If you have a reciept dont deal with a potential problem get a replacement.
