After downloading pictures, are you keeping all your pictures on the camera card and never deleting them? Your card must be very full. Also, your computer can't tell the difference between new pictures and the ones you don't want to download. Why not download everything and then format the card in the camera for a fresh start?

Nikon L820 will not transfer new files only even though this is what is selected

Usually this is a problem on the computer side, not the camera side. The computer file system does not know that older pictures have already been downloaded. Are they in a different place or have they been deleted?

Your friend is correct...you could cause problems trying to install an old software program on Windows 7 (although it probably would just reject it). Windows 7 sometimes comes with photo editing software already loaded. If not, there are free programs you could download (use Google to find them) or you could come into the 21st century, shell out $99 and buy a copy of Photoshop Elements which will open up a whole new world to you! Does your camera use a memory card? If so, the best way to download is to use a separate card reader. See the picture of one I've included. Also, you might want to consider upgrading to a new camera....The new ones are awsome!

If your previous download is still on the computer, then it is correct when it tells you there are no new pics to download. If that's the case, why would you want to download them again?

Sony DSC H-7 resetting picture counter when downloading

That's what the camera is supposed to do. If it always started back at 1, you wouldn't be able to download new pictures because your computer would keep telling you that those pictures already exist.

Some pictures already there

Try using a separate card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop. Then you can carefully rename the ones that the computer thinks are duplicates and then move them to their final destination. Your camera is obviously creating new folders but not continuing the sequence of numbers on the photos. You might want to e-mail one of Kodak's tech people with your problem to see if they've come up with a work-around.

Try using a separate card reader to download your pictures. That way, when you double-click on the icon that appears, you can select the pictures you want to download.

I know how to put pics from camera to computer. But if I havr 700 pictures how can I choose two or three pictures without having to sift through all those picturee?

This is my best solution for your problem. Why don't you take all the pictures off the camera and put them on your computer once. If you use a program like Picasa (free from google) You can set the program to exclude pictures you have already downloaded to your pc, so it will only import the newer pictures you have taken. Excludes older ones that have already been imported to your PC.

Or

You could format your Camera card once you have all the pictures on your computer and then whenever you take new pictures, just hook it up to the PC and dump them to the hard drive in another folder.

Keep it simple.

Downloading pictures

Greetings myazdi,

It is unfortunate that some cameras as well as other older programs and Vista do not get along. One solution I have heard of is to utilize a memory card reader such as any of these:

I hope this helps.
