HE4t washer stops with 2 minutes left in cycle with a flashing F 2 error. How do I correct this?

When I had the problem of stopping and F-ing erroring out during the spin (when the machine is being shaken the most and at a high frequency) I pulled the control card and reflowed all the solder joints, took care of the problem for a few months.

The problem returned. I reasoned that the relays must be sticky/old/defective. I removed and replaced all the relays on the control board (cost like $35) and it has been problem-free for 3 years. This is an easy fix for someone who has soldering equipment and know-how.

My kenmore elite smartwash/he4t

The "F11" fault code will display if the Motor Control Unit (MCU) has an internal failure; repeating under or over voltage, or over current conditions. If failure occurs during high speed spin the door unlocks after 3 minutes. The MCU (Motor Control Unit) is located beside the motor. Here is the part to order.

Kenmore HE4T elite: Incomplete F 06 error

The error is an indication a motor speed problem. You will need to check the following:

- Check the wiring harness. Verify all connections between the Drive Motor, Motor Control Unit (MCU), and Central Control Unit (CCU).

NOTE: The MCU is a circuit board located in the vicinity of the Drive Motor on the bottom rear of the washer. To access the MCU, you will need to remove the back panel of the washer.

NOTE: The CCU is the main computer for the washer and is located behind the wash tub. You will need to remove the top panel to access the CCU. This is accomplished by removing the three screws in the back of the washer that hold the top in place. Once the screws are removed, the top panel will slide back, then lift off.

- Check the Drive Motor. Perform a continuity check of the Drive Motor windings. Remove the connector plug and check across pins 1 to 2, 2 to 3, and 1 to 3. All readings should be approximately 6 ohms. HINT: You can also take this reading by removing connector 2 from the MCU and measuring across pins 1, 2 and 3. If the readings are good, this will also prove the wiring and connector good.

- Check the MCU. The connectors are numbered 1 to 3 (L to R). That is, with the MCU installed, connector 1 is on the bottom, followed by 2 in the middle, and 3 on top.

Connector 1 - is the serial communications link between the MCU and CCU and has three wires. At the opposite end, this will be the 2nd connector from the rear on the left-hand side of the CCU.
Connector 2 - is the link between the MCU and the Drive Motor. Pins 1, 2, and 3 on this connector are the Drive Motor windings. Pins 4 and 5 are for the tachometer.
Connector 3 - is the primary power connector. Pins 1 to 2 should read 120VAC with the door in the locked position. Pin 3 is ground. At the opposite end, this is the 4th connector from the right on the front of the CCU.

NOTE: All the connector pins are numbered R to L.

If your continuity readings are normal for the Drive Motor and you have verified all connectors, replace the MCU.

If any of the Drive Motor windings indicate readings higher that 6 ohms, replace the Drive Motor.

Kenmore HE4t Won't continue drain cycle Code F6 & beeping

Take off the bottom panel (unplug unit first!) and unscrew the cap on the drain cylinder, be sure to have plenty of towels to soak up the water! pull out the center piece and check out all the treasures stored inside. Be sure to use a flashlight and lift up the black hose behind it to get any leftovers in the hose. I just did it today and could not believe how much stuff was in there...coins. pens, buttons, lost of wet lint had it clogged. The clothes finally don't smell!

He4t - monthly bleach cleaning cycle

Washer Monthly Maintenance Procedure:
This cycle uses higher water volumes in combination with liquid chlorine bleach to thoroughly clean the inside of your washing machine.
  1. remove any clothing or items from washer
  2. CLOSE door (duh)
  3. open dispenser drawer and remove the detergent compartment and set aside. No laundry products will be added at this time. You will be required to add only liquid chlorine bleach at a later step.
  4. For Kenmore Elite HE products press a specific combo of buttons.
  • Select Rinse/Spin program
  • select low spin speed
  • select warm/cold water temp.
  • select 2nd rinse option
  • push the "end of cycle" signal button 4 times within 5 seconds to start the cycle
The machine will fill and run a short sensing cycle. This will take about 3 minutes.

Step 5
  1. The washer will provide 4 short tones. Check the: ESTIMATED TIME REMAINING display for the codes indicated below:
  • if "Ab" (add bleach) displayed in the estimated time remaining window (you'll hear 4 short tones) proceed to Step 6.
  • if "rL" (remove load) displayed in the Estimated Time Remaining window an error tone will sound. The door will unlock.
-open the door and remove the items from the washer.
-continue the cycle by pressing the START button.

NOTE: The water in the unit will dispense for a moment, then the door will unlock, lock again, and then the cycle will continue with another check for items in the washer.

The machine will fill and run a short cycle to determine whether any items have been left in the washer. This will take approx 3 minutes.

the washer will repeat Step 5 until it can determine that there are NO items n the washer and will display "Ab" (add bleach).
6. Add liquid chlorine bleach.
  • If using the maintenance procedure for the first time, open the dispenser drawer and immediately add 1 cup liquid chlorine bleach to the Main Wash detergent compartment. The liquid bleach should immediately flow out of the dispenser.
  • If doing a monthly maintenance procedure, open the dispenser drawer and immediately add 1/3 cup bleach to the Main Wash detergent compartment. The liquid chlorine bleach should immediately flow out of the dispenser.

    NOTES:
  • Water will be flowing into the dispenser drawer when the bleach is added ... this is normal.
  • Do not add any detergent to this cleaning cycle. Use of more than 1 cup of bleachw ill cause product damage over time.
7. Once the cleaning cycle has begun, allow the cycle to complete. An est cycle time will appear on the display.

8. After the cleaning cycle is complete, leave the door open, clightly to allow for better ventilation and drying of washer interior.

9. Replace the detergent compartment divider.
