I installed the software that came with the device, just as the instructions said to do (Win XP Home on Toshiba laptop). I rebooted my computer & windows would not restart & went into reboot loop.
Fortunately I'd made a restore point! I installed the software & tried again, with same results. I do not have the camera plugged in as instructions said not to until all was installed (& working!!).
Summary of Solutions posted here and elsewhere:
I just received a Innovage Digital Photo Album Keychain as a gift and ran into some of the issues posted here. I am going to summarize the solutions I have come across in hopes they will help others.
Installing/obtaining the software:
The keychain requires you to use custom software to upload pictures. The keychain includes a mini-cd with the software. If you have a computer with a slot loading cd (i.e. laptop, imac, mac-mini, etc) do not try to put the CD into your computer, it may become stuck! Either call the service line and order a full size cd, or try downloading the software from either:
Coby DP-151 software
Digital Foci - Pocket Album software
(While these are different digital photo products, the transfer software appears to be same as the Innovate software)
The software should be installed before you plug in the keychain into your USB port.
Software Issues:
Some users have complained that they can't see the whole transfer window. You might have your screen resolution set too low (like 680x480 or 800x600) try increasing to 1024x768 or bigger.
Finding photos: The software is quite simple, it does not integrate with your photo software (e.g. iphoto) it simple reads image files. You will need to point the software to where your photos are stored on your computer. For most people this is either "My Pictures" or simply "Pictures" folder.
Transferring photos: There have been some recommendations to transfer the photos to the keychain in small batches (like 6-10) rather than queuing up 60 images to transfer all at once. Apparently the software has crashed on some peoples machines when transferring many images.
Device Issues:
Charging: The device has an internal battery, it must be charged via your computers USB port. In must be in the charge mode, it will not charge when it is in the update mode. When you first plug the device into your USB port a menu should come up on the screen. You can use the arrow buttons to change the selection, then press the power key to select your choice. For charging you should select "USB Charge". In this mode the keychain will display images and won't let you power off. The red light will supposedly turn green once the keychain is fully charged.
Transferring images: The keychain must be in the "USB Update" mode before your software will talk with it. Try unplugging the keychain, plug it back in, wait for the menu, use the arrow keys to select "USB update", press the power button. Now try running your transfer software
Bad USB cables: Many people have reported that the supplied USB cable doesn't work. If you are having problems with charging or transferring images, first try another USB cable from a similar type device if you have one (many cameras have the same sized mini usb connectors)

problem: photoviewer not recognized after installing by cd rom
problem solved: first of all make sure you install the software from the mini cdrom
(and yes it doesn't work as many mentioned before...
take usb cable off the photo album and shut off the digital photoalbum
(at back pushing menu)
wait say 10 sec. and connect usb cable again between pc and
photo album.
you see USB update and USB Charge.... choose USB Update
and push the menu button at the back..
When you now start again the photoviewer (on yr pc-start-programs-
usb photo viewer- photoviewer it will open the programm (finally it
does !)
It works with ours now, hope it will with yours too!

I'm sick of all this Chinese Crap that you can't avoid buying anymore.
If you are having problems with the software, make sure that you disabled your virus program before installing. Otherwise it may not install completely. I had problems installing and this solved it. I also had a problem with the updating and turning the unit off and then back on, seemed to put it back into download mode. The keychain shows up as a drive on "my computer" and it won't show up unless the keychain screen says "USB ChargeUSB Update" and you go down and select "USB update". I managed to transfer pictures into the camera and so far, so good.
First, try your own USB cable. As far as the software goes, I don't think the included program on the mini CD is compatible with Windows Vista. Try loading this software:

It's from a different company but it worked for me with no problems (plus the fact that I ALSO used my own USB cable). I must give credit for the software suggestion to bueller02 who posted it earlier.
I cannot seem to charge the photo keychain. I have left it plugged into the USB port for several hours. Once I unplug the cord the screen goes black and will not turn on. I have left it on the the display USB charge and still nothing... Is there something else I can try...

Can't seem to find out whats going on with this device. I downloaded the program of Digital Foci software and now its telling me that the device not connected program can't start. Before I downloaded the Digital Foci software I unabled my virus program just like it said to and I still can't get this thing to work. I need help.
I received the keychain as a gift. So far I haven't figured out how to get pictures downloaded. I have Windows Vista. I had some trouble getting the little disk to stay in the tray till the door closed, but it finally worked. I downloaded it and charged it. Since the computer is new I didn't have any pictures on it. When I put pictures on the computer, I clicked on update and the keychain says updating. When I clicked on Photo Viewer, browse, and Windows Photo Gallery the picture shows, but not in the Photo Viewer file manager, and it won't syncronize. What am I doing wrong?

I have struggled with getting the PhotoViewer (v4.6) for Mac OS X to work, and have finally demonstrated to my own satisfaction that the only obstacle has been its incompatibility with OS X 10.5+(Leopard), because I installed and ran the software just fine on my other Mac, running OS X 10.4.10 (Tiger). Following all the recommendations from the manufacturer's EasyStart booklet and those on this site, the photo viewer charges, accepts uploaded photos, etc. just fine.
It looks like I, and all other Mac users running Leopard must simply wait until someone releases and upgraded version of PhotoViewer for Mac software that's compatible with OS X 10.5x.
As mentioned here a few times, the USB adapter/cable is the problem. For me, it worked fine once, but then I couldn't get it into update mode.
Tried another USB cable - problem solved.
Turn off unit. Connect via USB. Press Up or Down button to select USB Update mode. Press Menu button. Launch software.
I experienced similar issues. the problem seemed to have been caused by the USB cable that came with it.
i tried various things, such as rebooting and DLing different PhotoViewer software, but none of them would detect the device. windows would also complain about unknown USB device; sometimes the device would show up as a removable drive with 0 capacity.
regardless.. toss the USB cable that came with it, and use a similar cable from a digiCam, etc.
No problems with the Key Ring.
Download the driver and install on computer. Put in USB plug in pc and Key chain, in the updating mode
then go toPhotoview and there it is.
I also tried unplugging theusb for 10 seconds and retrying it and it worked! Thanks everyone!
Don't use the USB cable that came with the device, use another one instead! Works fine now!
Same problem here - works fine when plugged into the USB port, but once unplugged it's not holding a charge.
Photo Viewer SOLUTION:
Yes, after you install the software, plug in the device to the USB cable. Select USB Update from the menu, use the arrow keys on the back and press the menu button to select.
Open the software and browse to find your pictures on your computer. Select a picture and click the arrow to transfer into the picture que (the holding area for your selected pictures).
When you have selected all the pictures that you want, click the Synchronize button and wait for all the pictures to transfer to your device. Once done, close the program, then use the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system tray. Once the computer says it's ok, disconnect the USB cable. Power off the device by pressing the Menu button and selecting OFF. Turn the unit back on and all of your pictures should display.
TIP: try to synchronize only a couple of pictures first until you get the hang of it. And if this is a gift for someone it may be good to write down the instructions that they can understand.

I can't get the thing to hold a charge. No problem uploading photos though using the software. Hate when things don't work. At least it wasn't expensive. I was hoping though to use it for a gift it would have been popular. Sigh.
You should be able to "syncronizae" by clicking the syncroniz on the upper right side of the photo viewer program.
Mine has problems too. I think there is no battery in it. :(

The message "No Photo Viewer Found, program termined" will happen unless you have the keychain plugged into the USB port in syncronization mode not charging mode. It's just saying it can't find a Photo Viewer plugged in to sync with. That should solve your problems. You can't update you image library unless it is plugged in.
I also had the same problem except my computer kept saying there was something wrong with the USB cable and also my software would tell me no photo view..well I just used another USB cable and that was it. Uploaded them and was on my way.

Followed Instructions -I too installed the disk that came with the key chain and was successful with uploading photos. upon closing the program I was asked to save which I did..I returned the following day to add more photos, clicked on the icon and message came up - "No Photo Viewer Found, program termined" I reinserted the disk and the message was that this program 2.3 Photo Viewer was already installed on my computer...I uninstalled, reinstalled and clicked on the icon again and same message "No Photo Viewer Found, program termined" This appears to be a huge problem for me as I have just purchased 6 of these for stocking stuffers for my children for Chiristmas, if a support tech does not response with a solution I will have to return all 7 that I purchased. I successfully downloaded the software but still can't upload pictures to my keychain. I have checked all the web sites everyone has suggested with no results. When I go to download pictures to my keychain, i get a message to reformat the disc and when I try to, I get a message that says the computer is unable to do the formatting. I am using Windows Vista if that is what is causing the problem but I don't think so as I have tried on a computer with Windows XP with the same results. I think I am going to have to return it. How can they sell a product that you can't use?

i keep trying to intall the program and i restarted my computer like it says and every time i try and start the program it tells me that its terminated....i have now done this 5 times. i follow the instructions just like it says and this still happens. ok so i have the program working now, i just cant get any pictures on my browser....it shows all my program files but no pics and i have a ton om my computer....so how do i get pictures on the browser?
I have a Mac with system 10.4. The package says installation for Mac but there is no installation icon or file to do it. I did find the Mac application and extension file but there is no effective way to install it. When I open the app the window pops up and tells me to plug in the device and make sure it is in "update mode". But when I do that the device seems to go into perpetual update... never ends.
Seems like just another crappy Chinese product... anyone have a solution?

I thought mine wasn't holding a charge also. I'd disconnect from the USB device & the camera shut down. I'd push the power button & nothing. So in frustration I held down the power button for like 10 seconds & it came on! Why don't they say that in the instructions!!! Guess that's so it don't accidentally get bumped thus coming on & draining on the battery.

The solution posted by bueller01 worked for me. I'm running windows Vista. I clicked the link for Digital Foci Software. I downloaded and installed it. It allowed me to drag photos to the Innovage Photo Keychain even though it is not Innovage software, I also used my own mini-USB cable. THANKS Bueller02 !!!! Innovage support is non-existent and/or useless!
close but no cigar. I have version 1.0.2 of the driver. I can set the time and date -- no problem there. I can get the screen to say updating ...but I cannot put any photos in, and I am tired of looking at the ones that came on there of someone else's kids! The instructions say:

I too can't seem to turn the stupid thing on. When it's on the the charge mode connected to the computer, the green light is on and the pictures are showing. I purchased the rechargeable photo album w/keychain & thought if i follow the enclosed direction the thing would work but it doesn't & i have been on line looking for additional software or a patch to fix the issue; i tried the install 3 times & restarted my PC with the device unplugged it just wont work & the software wont open when i click on the icon. i bought several of these things & gave them as gifts thinking if it came with a driver disc it would work.

The wife got this key chain for Chrismas from the daughter,and the daughter was able to put pictures on it of her family before giving it to the wife.

Wife received photo viewer as a gift. I followed instructions exactly. Viewer works well as long as it is connected to the computer but will not turn on when disconnected. Steps taken; only one..removed software from computer, deleted all files from viewer, reinstalled software and rebooted. Same results.
We have the Digital Photo Album with keychain, finally got it to hold photos downloaded from our iMac, then the battery expanded popping it open and blowing out the buttons. Have no idea where to go for replacement or to warn about the battery.
The green light comes on when I plug it into my USB port but the battery must not charge because it then ask to load the pics but I get an error message on the main computer say the transfer could not be made. My unit will not come on if unplugged from the USB cord also.
