Cect I9 internet settings problem

Hi, I wonder if anybody can help me please, Ihave a Cect I9 touch phone and its a great phone, however I just cant log on tothe internet, I keep getting Connection failed, or gprs is not supported. Iknow that the internet it does work with this phone on voda, but cant for thelive of me get it to work, or cant find anybody with the same problem on theweb. I have tried lots of different settings but no luck. Can anybody help meplease by filling out where I have put question marks below? Thanks in advance.

    Set only the WAP frofile. You have not given your service provider's name. That is needed as all of them have their own settings. What country are you in?

In India the settings are as follows for AirTel: Name could be anything that you can remember. APN airtelgprs.com Proxy Enable Proxy Port 8080 IP Address 202.56.231.117 Without these settings you cant use the net. ID and password are kept blank as you can use with your SIM when GPRS is activated again by the service provider. So get in touch with Vodafon helpline ans ask them. Actually, Airtel automatically sends all the settings to your SIM. Today I got my Nokia E71 firmware updated. And the moment I inserted my Sim and powered it on I had the settings and I connected to the net instantly without any fuss. So, Vodafon helpline is the answer.

Hi,it seems you can"t access the internet from your i9,the best solution is to contact your service provider(orange) to give you the internet settings for your i9,because this settings varies with different phone depending on your service provider.have a nice day.

These phones comes with Chinese mms and sms settings only. You need to set it up yourself. if you want let me know what's your service provider, I have the info. about T-Mobile, but I guess we can get any other information from Google.

Annoying clicking sound with my new cect i9 3g

turn off the lock feature for the screen settings/security setup/autolock keypad. seems to have worked for mine but bummer not being able to lock keypad.

There is a i9 manual with GPRS settings here. They also have Internet settings for many providers. Just ask them for it.

Cect i9 3g o2 internet help

This seems to be the settings for web, let me know if they work.


1- Set GPRS Account

Goto Home
Goto Entertainment
Goto Services
Goto Data Account
Choose GPRS
Create a new profile on mine I'm currently using a PAYG SIM so have called it PAYG O2 on Profile 8

APN (Contract) wap.o2.co.uk (PAYG) payandgo.o2.uk
Username (Contract) o2wap (PAYG) payandgo
Password password
Auth. Type Normal

2 Edit Browser Profile
Go Back to the Entertainment > Services Menu

Choose WAP
Choose Settings
Choose Edit Profile
Create a new one, I've called it PAYG O2 and choose O2
Choose Edit Profile
Rename if required
Homepage: http://wap.o2.co.uk
Data Account: Select the Account setup in 1 Above
Connection Type: Choose HTTP and set proxy to 193.113.200.195 and port to 8080
Username and password should remain empty

There should not be any difference between contract and PAYG

Find the i9 network settings at http://chinamanuals.com
Send them your provider and they will come back with the right settings.

Free games for i9 phones

The CECT i9 and i68+ have JAVA. Unfortunately, most of the free JAVA games out there, are designed for keypad input. You will have to look for specifically "touch screen" apps and games. And among those, not all of them will work. I am afraid it's going to be "trial and error" for a while.

As for HOW to load the JAVA apps and games on your CECT i9, here's how:

On your computer, with the i9 plugged in with the USB cable, drag the JAR or JAD files into the "RECEIVED" folder. After you're finished with everything you want to add, disconnect the i9. Touch your DOCUMENTS button, then "memory card," then "received," you will see your JAR/JAD files listed. Touch the file you want to install. The next screen, choose INSTALL. It will bring you back to the menu choices of "phone" or "memory card." Choose PHONE and select YES. It should give you a message when it has successfully installed. Then exit out to the main screen, touch the JAVA button. Select "Installed Java Software" and you should be able to use your newly installed JAVA apps and games.

I'm sorry to say that that guy is wrong because the CECT i9 does have java depending on who you purchase it from. If you want proof go on youtube and look at some videos of people actually downloading java games to their phone.
