I have a 20inch flat screen Hisense TV. The 'Lock'feature is on and is blocking me getting to the tv channels. I have the remote and it has a lock button on it.However, the remote is apparently not working,I even changed the batteries. It will not do any functions, even off and on. How can I 'unlock' the tv to allow me to watch channels. Please e-mail me at [email protected] is Tom Kamerling in Russellville, AR

The answer doesn't solve the problem, but I understand that I may have to buy a new remote for the TV in order to get the lock off. I was in hopes that there was a way to unlock it even with out the remote, but maybe not..Thanks..Tom Kamerling, Russellville, AR

You need to check your remote first. Point your remote to a digital camera or camcorder, press and hold ‘power’ button on remote, if you can see the remote blinking on your camera LCD, your remote is working. If doesn’t you may need to find a working remote to unlock your TV.

My tv is on the photo screen and can't get it back to normal tv. I've tried everything and nothing has worked

The source button on your remote should cycle thru the various inputs. If it doesn't respond make sure the lock button (child lock) hasn't been pushed and engaged on the remote.

TV IS IN LOCK MODE

Try this. If you have a Hisense TV and it happens to be stuck in "child lock" mode (blue screen displaying the words "child lock") you can try to fix it by holding the "CALL" button on the remote for a few seconds.

We have a magnavok big screen tv

Manual Library you should find all you need here:
http://www.techlore.com/group/2/list_downloads

Hope that helps, good luck

ALSO:
I searched a Magnavox manual for the lock feature here is what I found...
The following functions are disabled during SDM (and enabled after leaving SDM):
· Parental lock
· Blue mute
· Hospitality Mode
· No-ident Timer (normally the set is automatically switched off when no video signal (IDENT) is received for
15 minutes).
All other controls operate normally.
Entering Service Default Mode
To enter the Service Default Mode, press the following key sequence on the remote control transmitter:
0-6-2-5-9-6-MENU
Do not allow the display to time out between entries while keying the sequence.
Upon entry into the Service Default Mode, the letters “SDM” will be displayed at the upper right corner of the screen.

ALSO:
- Line 7 : “CHANNEL BLOCKED”
Indicates that all channels are locked except the selected channel.
The following complaints may be generated due to locked channels:
- TV cannot be switched on from standby with the local keyboard buttons.
- “CH+” and “CH-“ buttons on local keyboard do not function.
To disable the LOCK feature:
Select ”FEATURE” menu (with the Remote Control).
Select “LOCK” (with the Remote Control).
Set to “OFF”

Hisense flat screen has locked

Try turning the main power switch on the back of the tv off.
Then hold the menu button and push that switch back on while still holding the menu button.
Keep holding the menu button until the setup menu pops up.
Next, be sure your input is set correctly(air or cable).
Next, do an auto channel search.

That did it for me. After I shut it off I had to do it one more time but it did the job. A friend of mine gave me the tv for free because nobody he new could figure it out. I took it home, got lucky, and figured it out in about ten minutes.

Hope this works for you. line-gry.gif
