Question about Dell Vostro 1510 Motherboard System Board - J475C
Hi i hooked up my vostro 1510 to my tv via a vga to vga which both support but i just get my desktop picture and nothing else no icons no cursor nothing can you help me please
It's likely that your OS, whatever that is, wrongly identified the display size of your TV and it set the screen resolution too high, and you may even have what is known as a "virtual" desktop that is bigger than the physical screen size.
To ensure this is the case, move the mouse pointer towards the edges of the TV screen and see if your desktop scrolls along, and your icons and other stuff shows up. If this is the case, then adjust your resolution to a smaller size, say, from 1920 x 1200 to 1024 x 768, click Apply and then Ok.
That should fix the problem temporarily, but there's no guarantee that it will not do the same thing next time you connect your pc to your TV set. I have experienced the same thing with my laptop and HDTV, and I have had to repeat the process again.
