SOURCE: whirpool et21pkxgw03 refrigerator

This is a common problem when the defrost condensate drain becomes blocked. Depending on the location of the blockage is the clue to how to prevent the blockage. Most times the blockage begins inside the freezer and overflows into the freezer creating a huge area of ice while at other times the blockage is just as it leaves the freezer and makes its turns going down to the pan below your refrigerator to reevaporate into the air inside your home. On the link below the whole page shows way of this happening and ways to stop it and resolve the problem. Read the entire page and use the part that most refers to you leaking problem. SOURCE: chemical smell in freezer and refrigerator

Have you tried cleaning wil Bon Ami ? Sometimes , we have to clean our reconditioned appliances that we sull to environmentalists ( detergent smells , fafric softner smells , etc , ) . Refrigerants ( freon ) have no odor , so it has to be the inside plastic which has the odor . Try Bon Ami and if that doesn't work , stuff 1 freezer shelf with crumpled up newspaper . The ink in newspaper , absorbes odors . This is the only way to remove fish odor in freezers that have quit cooling .

SOURCE: puddles on top shelf and under crisper drawers

This is not a major repair and also a very common problem. You will need to turn unit off and remove everything from inside the freezer. After this remove the back panel of the freezer and you will see ice built up at the bottom of the coils. You will have to remove all this ice and clear the defrost drain trough and tube. After the ice is removed you will see the defrost drain located about midways. Use a hair dryer to melt this then take a cup of very very very hot water and pour a little in the tube. Let stand for 5 minutes then dry it up real good and repeat. Do this till the drain clears and water flows freely. Then reassemble and you are good to go.

How do I fix a broken support for crisper

Plastic support parts are hard to fix with out replacing them. 5 minute epoxy may work. Wind thin wire around the part first before gluing it if you can to help reinforce it.

Kitchenaid 25 cu. ft. side by side is freezing food in the refrigerator side(meat drawer and crisper)

Have you checked the temperature setting for the fridge? It may be set too low. There also may be an adjustment on the drawer for the crisper that can be adjusted (typically a slide adjustment.

My Kenmore side by side is fine, except for freezing everything in the crisper drawers.

The coldest place in your fridge is in the crisper drawers, manufactures know this and they even put heaters under the floor of your fridge to try to heat it up a bit in there, if you set your freezer temperture to low there will be less cold air current that flows into your fridge but it will flow in over a longer period of time, that air is about -22C so it will be blowing on your items in your crisper for a long time and it will probably freeze them, all very confusing and complicated but it may help to turn your controles for your freezer to a warmer setting, on the other hand if you only open your fridge a few times a day the cold air being denser will settle in the bottom of the fridge and freeze the crisper area, not much you can do about this, except eat more food... :-)

Why are my veggies freezing even thought the temp is set to 40?

Most fridges have crisper drawers that have a selection lever on either the front or side of the drawer that allows you to select eiher veggies or meat. Veggie setting is supposed to keep the crisper drawer warmer, while Meat setting makes it the coldest possible.

If you don't have the selector slide levers, I would suggest you use the highest possible crisper drawer available, as the lower in the frdge compartment you go, the colder the air will be. That should resolve the problem you're having, other than lowering the fridge temp setting slightly.

You might notice a cold air exchange vent next to your crisper, which supplies cold air from the freezer section into the fridge section, so that could be contributing to the colder temps in the crisper where you keep your veggies.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

The refrigerator section is freezing. the temp adjust is at 1

This could be the actuator is not closing the door that controls how much cold air from the freezer is ciculated into the fresh food section. It could be something broken or there could be ice biuldup on the door itself, not allowing the door to open or close.
