Toshiba Laptop A135-S2276 Dead

It would power up to the point of spinning the fan and cd/dvd drive and that was it… no beeps or screen power-up. I removed all ram and hard drive. Hooked hard drive up to desktop with usb cable and it seems fine. Removed processor chip and reseated, didn’t help. It almost seems to stop before reading Bios. I have read several forums about this mother board dying. Ordered and installed used (tested) mother board with my orginal processor. Same results as before. Could the processor be bad?

could be a combination of your CPU fan, your dvd/cd or your HDD, check your CPU fan for dust and debris, blow it out regardless, check the dvd/cd player for any disks inserted as it will try to read any cd inserted at startup

Toshiba A135-S2276,If the mother board is bad would your usb hubs still get power?On my laptop they still work,could there be another problem preventing it from posting at all,just a black screen

They can still get power depending on the issue with the motherboard.

You should try:

Resetting the memory
Booting with only one memory stick
Booting with the hard drive out
Booting with the battery and cd / dvd drive removed.

If none of those work then the motherboard is probably toast :(

i have encountered this problem before on many laptops and sometimes your monitor can just go bad or a piece of bad hardware in your laptop but in my case most of these problems are the monitor going bad. how old is this laptop

Screen went black while using laptop, have rebooted, goes black 1 sec after starting up

i have the same problem with my Satellite A135-S2256, starts up all lights light up except processor light, fan turns on but CD/DVD drive wont turn on : ( any ideas on why? how to fix?

The problem is well known witht this model Toshiba - the problem is the fan stops working and then hence shuts down to prevent overheating - it does not take long once the laptop is hot. Without replacing the fan just reboot the laptop until you hear the fan start again on reboot.

Toshiba A135-S2276 with a Hitachi GSA-T10N DVD/CD Drive.

The laser went to it´s maker. Problably you will have to replace the drive, but before you do that, try cleaning VERY GENTLY the laser lens with a 80/20 solution of water and alcohol. Close the drive and let it dry for a few minutes before inserting a disc. Sometimes it works.
